Yeah from what I can see on the side in the shots posted above. In the photos I have seen, it looks like 2 engines are still on the aircraft but not been able to view the remaining engine on the other side properly to see what condition it’s in.
I don’t understand what the owners have to gain from letting these aircraft just rot away. Might be some parts that could be salvaged to help other projects. WR985 is 55 years old this year and just sitting rotting away. I would be happy to move it if the owner can’t afford or be bothered to do anything with the aircraft.
I was thinking similar about the chair. 🙂
Sad to see WR985 in such a bad state. Here are some shots taken 2 years ago (including some from inside).

Welcome to the forum Ben.
Excellent shots, high quality detail, thanks for sharing. 🙂
Cool, yeah the Sat-G96 has a high resolution 640X480 UFPA detector which gives an accurate and reliable temperature measurement result in high quality thermal imaging.
True, it is rare especially with historic aviation photography. Excellent results!
🙂 cool! 🙂
🙂 Thanks for posting 🙂
I missed a treat. Thanks for posting the links, great video and beautiful photos from the show. 🙂
Great pics, a bit different from the norm, thanks for sharing. 🙂
Were these taken using the SATIR G96?
Thank you for the update Peter under such sad circumstances with the loss of a well respected member of the aviation community.
Peter Vallance had courage that deserves respect and admiration and has gathered together a wonderful and varied collection of aircraft for everyone to see and enjoy.
My condolences to everyone at the museum, family and friends at this time.
Also the Victor! It always has been my number one choice from the V-force.
RIP Peter,
Very sad news, my condolences to his family and friends. I had planned a visit in March but notice on Gatwick Aviation Museum website…
‘NOTICE
It is with regret that Gatwick Aviation Museum Ltd announces that due to circumstances beyond its control it is unable to accept visitors to the museum, effective immediately and for the forseeable future.
Any modifications to this notice will be published here.’
Good point. Thinking about Eastbourne for a moment, they get a good variation of aircraft including a hunter, tornados, jet provost etc last year. Also the Vulcan on the Saturday (which I think a local councillor paid for out of his own pocket).
Unless leaves are on the line, then it’s a bus replacement service. 🙂
Stunning b&w shot!
I love working with colour shots personally (i.e. aircraft, women/pinup, location etc), and it’s very rare I do b&w versions (although I do have a b&w shot in my album on my profile here of a Spitfire at Shoreham).
This shot looks stunning, the Lanc in b&w gives the shot a war time feel. Stunning!
Thanks for sharing… 🙂
Just noticed this thread not sure how I missed it. Spent the last hour reading through it and looking at the wonderful collection of beautiful models! Many hours of dedication and skill you have put into them. The white Victor looks amazing!
Very impressed with your work and thank you for sharing pics of your collection.
I haven’t built any models for years, but when I was in my teens I had a 1:72 Victor, which was my best model. Back then I wanted to build an airport and have a number of 1:72 scale models keeping everything to the same scale. We didn’t have the space and even my dads shed wasn’t large enough to build a 1:72 scale airport.
Excellent collection 🙂
