That plate is basically giving you the mod state of the component it is attached to 🙂

Hi John, and well done for ‘checking in’ !

A bold and challenging proposal, but a fitting tribute to the many RAAF aircrew who served in Lancs.

The airframe is no 1 issue, and it make me think of the Strathallan /Charles Church aircraft, damaged and then seemingly dispersed.
The fuselage was crushed, but I suspect there is the expertise around to fabricate a new-build section.

Funding is the deal-breaker, though any business plan might be able to include a revenue stream from paying passengers, as is seen in Canada.
New Zealand, in their Part 115 Regualtions are encouraging ‘Venture Aviation’ whereby you can now pay for a trip in a P.40 Mustang or whatever.
Australia may not be far behind with a similar policy.

This A/C is now in store at Fantasy of Flight in Florida.

What else would you expect them to say, we are crap, go elsewhere they are better? Gerald Ratner tried that little ploy, and look where it got him.

No I wouldn’t , I would expect them to show what their 140 years of experience has produce, not someone else’s

Again you are jumping to assumptions, there was nothing I saw on the page when it was up to say it was their work, you all assumed it was, the only issue was copyright and again you are making a pariah out of this company without knowing the facts.
They may well have paid a Company to produce the website, as most do, oblivious to the fact they had used none copyright free material on it.
To their fortitude, they rapidly reacted when the facts were put before them and withdrew the site until they can rectify the problem.

To be fair I think the issue here is that this company, whoever they may be, have made a big thing of saying how good they are and how much better their work is than every one else without having anything of their own to show for it, I fact worse than that they have used other people’s work passing it off as their own. Or at least they have let people assume its their work. I agree about people jumping to conclusions but it would be much better to have used pictures of their own work, if indeed they have actually done some. Surely with 140 years of experience between them they have something to show for it???
Sorry but in recent years there has been to many of these company’s appear, jumping on the restoration band wagon with not expertise and no qualifications and shout loud about it to try and get the work.
Those than can do this sort of work quietly get on with it and let the work speak for itself.

Jeezus!!!!! I wouldn’t want these people moving any Aircraft of mine!!!! Amateur or what, not a good advert for the company or the Historic Aircraft preservation world.
I thought the use of an electric drill while fuel was pouring every where was particularly brilliant!

    To whet your appetites…..

The 1969 Slingsby built replica Camel G-AWYY/C1701 displayed at Old Warden in October 1976….flown by Neil Williams if I recall correctly.
Can’t wait for the beautiful NAW version to fly.

And now earh bound and in store at the FAA Museum 🙁 it was indeed powered by a Warner and should be flying still in my mind. Built for “Biggles Sweeps The Skies” along with our very own BE2 G-AWYI, be great to see them flying together!

I saw this on the news today. Their grandfather is Vic Norman who’s a pilot with the Breitling wingwalkers so they were in familiar territory.

Personally I think it’s refreshing in this day and age to see kids do something like this.

Er slightly more than just one of the pilots, he founded and owns the team and the aircraft 🙂
