If they make a movie about Yeager it wouldn’t be complete without portraying him as the arrogant a*s he turned into. But somehow I think that part will be left out…
Personally I would love to see ChickenHawk being made into a movie.
Excellent book, another one that managed to hold my attention.
Very nice indeed.
I’ve got the ideal period base for it – promise it won’t tip over!

Just thought that at the moment there is so much talk of a remake of this and a remake of that, that there must be a wealth of great material about to make new film’s
Thanks for the photos Ben. Great to see these relics surviving of such a good TV series, representing not just the WWI period of aviation but also a golden period in television drama too.
I seem to recall in the opening credits of the series there was a much older plane, which may have appeared in the first episode too. Was that a Shuttleworth plane? Or a Magnificent Men replica? It was real primitive like a Wright flyer or something similar
im fairly certain it was the Box kite at Shuttleworth, which of course is a Magnificent Men Rep, so both realy!
Note that the tail’s falling off the BE (replica) model.
Just like the real thing !!
Now thats spooky!!!!!
At the end of the day you are speculating on an accident that has only just happened an as yet we do not know the full facts! it may well be that the A/C in question has been in the past abused in someway, but i just feel it is better to wait for the facts before making coments. Anxious no, concerned yes!
A structural failure is very disconcerning! but wild speculation will not help the cause. then powers at be are bad enough at over reacting and the last thing we need is all the A/C Grounding untill they investigate the incident. At the end of the day all our thoughts would be better placed towards the families and freinds of those involved.
Best not to coment to much untill the facts are known!!
