In the case of Chile, uses C-130s, Twin Otters, it is based at Presidente Frei Base a Bell 412SP while the Navy has operated P-3s, Bell Jet Rangers and CASA 212. Currently they operated Bo105 and Dauphin.
The civil company Aerovías DAP has employed Twin Otter and nowadays flies there with BAe 146-200 and Beech 100 King Air.

Excellent! we are expecting the arrival of Aerolíneas Argentinas with that livery in SCL, a nice update considering the current ‘colours’ currently worn by AA.
Some images (100+) of Chilean AF open day at El Bosque AFB, Santiago on March 26. Included the F-16C display, Bell 412EP and Halcones team, plus various recently retired planes on the tarmac:

Cheers!
Chile AF currently has one Bk-117 (H-32), the other was trespassed to Carabineros de Chile in October 2010; Carabineros (Chilean Police) has three of the type now on strength.
Sad, that plane was based in Chile in the early 1990’s registered CC-CTG and named ‘Gran Ganso’ http://modocharlie.com/2010/07/un-ex-chileno-en-farnborough-2010/#comment-15340 🙁

Cessna 404
Just found the same video on YouTube, it has this information:
This video was shot on Dec 14th after a hydraulic line failure in our 404 Titan forced us to make an emergency landing with the gear up. The emergency blow down bottle had a valve malfunction as well so there was no option available from that point on other than to find a place to sit it down. At the end of the slide down the runway there was a small fire on-board which I extinguished before exiting the aircraft with my crew member closely on my six . I’d like to send my thanks out to my crew member, the engineers in Wichita and to the ground crew mechanics at Mountain Home Airport in Arkansas for their assistance in relaying the communications with the engineers at Cessna, and for their mechanical knowledge that they shared with us during this unusual situation we found ourselves in.
Regards.

Hi all,
A picture of a Peruvian AF Boeing 737-200 about to take off from SCL airport…a very noisy experience!
Chilean Navy AS-332F1 Super Puma & AS365Fi Dauphin during the MIO excersise last week at Valparaíso, during Exponaval 2010:

Finally, a similar excersise performed the same day at Exponaval, but this time by the Mexican Navy. It comprised an Eurocopter AS565 Panther:

Best regards.
FACh
Yesterday November 5 was the date when the new FACh C-in-C took office. There was the usual air display and the highlight was the flypast of Boeing 767 alongside B707 Phalcon AEW, KC-135E and Boeing 737-300.

Hi, many thanks for your comments regarding the coverage of aviation on Chile’s Bicentennial 😉
Well, today’s the 40th anniversary of the creation of current Chilean Army Aviation: ModoCharlie has just published a photogallery (courtesy of Germán Lüer) with some rare types that were in the ranks of that armed force. Here is the link to the photo gallery:

Chilean Bicentennial
Hi, on September 18th the Chileans celebrated the Bicentennial of the independence from Spain process. This year, aside the traditional Military Parade on September 19 in Santiago we had a open day at the Chilean Army Aviation in Rancagua and the Navy Parade in Valparaíso-Viña zone. Here are some links with images, although the information is in Spanish feel free to ask any questions:
