I don’t suppose a warbird will ever make contrails again, the sheer scale of all the contrails at the end of the clip paints a dangerous but haunting picture on the blue sky.
We don’t take any notice of the contrails now, that must’ve been a frightening and awesome sight for those people witnessing it for the first time.
Trumper, think again! 😎

How cool is that!?!?! 😀
Good inspiration for my Mustang artwork too!
Nice one Robbo 🙂
Happy birthday Alex 😀
Sorry for the slightly brain-dead comment, but contra-props are cool 😀
Thanks a lot for your comments, guys! Very much appreciated 🙂
would have been interesting to see it flying
aj_march, I’m working on a little fly-by animation of it. Nothing too funky, but once it’s done I’ll put it here.
TexanTomcat, thanks! I need to redo the NA-57 though, as I recently saw some new photos of it and it turns out the whole belly was yellow!
Bob, check this out: http://www.luft46.com/junkers/juef100.html
It could well have been the Condor replacement. And a big one at that!
LOL Damien! 🙂
Next subjects: F4U Corsair and Fw 190 A-8 and a lot more Mustangs…
*tumbleweed rolls by*
😀
The canopy surely is a standard feature for this model. I merely suggested it looks different from more comon fighter models (Mk.IX, Mk.V, etc) 🙂
Unless someone beats me to it, I’ll have a look in the FlyPast airshow guide tonight when I get home, and let you know what’s going on around those dates 🙂
Thanks guys 🙂
I have to admit, it maybe be one of my best pics ever and I’ve been photographing for over ten years. It just came out really well (pic is straight from the camera) and I just really love the painterly feel of this shot. Benefits from a bit of rainclouds during the show. I actually have two of them, extremely similar, but this one is crisper.
Nick, did you submit pics to Flypast too, last year? I saw some of “my” pics in there, if you know what I mean. You can always tell when people were standing close to you on an airshow! 😀
Al, the pics you just posted are fine, given the weather. Don’t despair, it’s early in the season! Plenty of opportunities ahead 😉
Perhaps that shot was beginner’s luck too. It was the first time I used my EOS 300D – it was only a few days old then and I hadn’t practised yet. I reckon 80% of my Flying Legends 2004 shots was slightly out of focus… But 20% of 400 pics is still a nice “harvest” 😀
I do feet that there’s something not quite right about the shape.
Likely it’s the cockpit that’s causing that. The windshield has no braces and the canopy is flat. Makes the plane look really “odd”.
…or when they say “Todays Duxford pics”
How else can you interpret that? 😀
V. nice! 🙂
Mind if I stick in my pic from last year’s flying legends?

Lovely machine 🙂
If you thought WW2 colour stuff was spectacular (which it is! :D) then this will blow your mind away:

For the skeptics, don’t even try 🙂 That’s a genuine WW1 colour photograph!

And if that wasn’t awesome… just check this one out:

Jawdropping quality too!
Cool 🙂
They somehow remind me a bit of 1970s magazine colour illustrations – except printed in register 😉
v. nice!
You’ve got some mad colours going on there! Post-editing or polarisation filter?
