I thought they did a bloody marvelous job of telling this amazing story , it moved me !
BTW for those that missed it or indeed those like me that might want to watch it again …………..It is to be repeated next Saturday (24th March) at 8.25pm on BBC 2

Hope nobody minds me adding my favourite to the thread….
I did see it on the lunchtime news . Its also here on the BBC website;
I’m just hoping the restoration of Richard Bransons DH Mosquito will be finished in time for its legends debut;)
Hi Matt
For basics like understanding aperture and DOF you coud try canons own Enjoy site;
http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/enjoydslr/index.html
Not sure how knowledgeable you are, but a good learner book to understand the relationship between shutterspeed , aperture and iso and how they relate to being creative with your camera is Bryan Petersons’ ” understanding exposure” . If your library doesnt have it they should be able to get it in from another branch for a nominal amout.

John
Hi Adam
Things are a touch different in the DSLR world , The aperture number on the DSLR Zuiko Digital ED 18-180 1:3.5-6.3 lens is the maximum (largest) aperture you can have at a given focal length ie.
at 18mm your max aperture will be f3.5 and at 180mm it will be f6.3

Some nice shots there – seems the refurb has come out well.
I love the last shot……lol
Dunno whether it should go into the long standing “How Low Can You Go” thread – or in a new one : “How The Heck Did They See Out Of That?”…. :diablo:
Must admit the silver canopy and windscreen look a whole lot better than a faded perspex look.
To be perfectly honest the pics dont do the paintwork justice and my colours look a bit off,they have done a good job on her ,If you look in the bushes of the second pic you can see a tin of red paint 😀
Hopefully you can see how nice she looks compared to the op image

😉
OK fair enough, so where’s the photo of it then? You are slipping sir, let’s see her as she is now. Just a shame she’s stuck on a pole though.
Lol ,sorry about that , yes I did get pics but it was as the big light in the sky had gone to bed for the night 😀 sooo the pics didnt really do justice to her new look , will goget some better ones asap.
Sorry to bump an old thread , they have just finished doing a refurb on this gnat , she looks great in her shiney new paint.
Just jumping back on this one…..EOS350D local dealer, 2nd user, £300 NO LENS …..or 10D Local Guy, 2nd User with a Sandisk 512 what ever that is, NO LENS, SAME PRICE…..what would you buy????????????
Cheers ( again)
TBH I probably would pay an extra £50 and get a 350D brand new in a box with a warranty.

A sandisk 512 is a memory card , worth maybe a tenner.

Took this as she flew over , shame the right wing is a bit soft but still a good memory of one of the season highlights.

Ever wondered why there are rules against flying over the crowd at airshows?
Ever wondered what would have happened, for example, if the T-33 that failed to get airborne from Duxford not long before this film was taken had been taking off directly towards a bank full of punters?
I’ve been overflow a fair few times at airshows this year and I checked up about this and thought he was within the “rules” :confused:
Edited to add , i’ve just re read cap 403 on the caa site and I think i was wrong , my appologes 😮
Hello
I wish i was standing at this end !
I was 🙂 yup directly underneath just to the left of that camera , it was awsome.
