What’s your problem, why are you jumping at me and not the dude who posted the article. The Captor E is not a true AESA radar according to him, I just support his views rather than yours.

    Check this:

A little bit old, but still valid.

Until then things with the CaptorE might be more clear.

Which makes absolute sense not to go for a programme in disarray funded by countries basically in recession.

The U.S economy may not be doing that well either, but hell they still spend a lot on R&D and their Radars are proven.

Rafale already has one ready, so it still retains its competitiveness.

    When is the decision due?

Currently the EF consortium is offering an AESA antenna for the Eurofighter to everybody.

The problem is that they have not, yet, secured funding from the 4 initial partners. Even if all 4 partners disapprove AESA funding, any customer can get it, if he can pay the R&D cost.

At the end of the day, the cost of the antenna will be divided amongst the final number of the EFs that will be incorporating it.
And only then we will know the cost. :diablo::diablo:

    Neither.
They in-flight refueled once, while flying in the states, but the rest was flown in parts.

I have a question about the use of CFTs in HAF. Do your Block 52+ always carry them ?

    Depends on the mission.

Mounting and unmounting CFT is neither fast, nor easy.
So it takes a little mission programming.

In our recent participation in the RED FLAG, only the two seater, was carring them.

Because they doubt the neutrality of your courts.

They reserve the right to question the neutrality of the Hellenic courts, in public, of course, but they really know how things are done.
Moreover, as I said they can go to a EU court.

Its too much of a risk, now some people will believe one story and others the other. There is always a risk at finding out the truth if its ruled that their version is not correct, it will be bad for them. Its common sense not to go.

    That is precisely the point!
In fact they know the truth. They have data, video and voice recorders, plus 3 eye witnesses.

Like I said the worst thing would be him being found guilty by a lower court and then the Greek govt. saying OK as a good measure we are acquitting him.

Now that would **** the Turks off big time.

The Greek Gov cannot acquit nobody, and only the President (who is not a member of the gov) can release him on pardon.

What I am trying to say, is that since the incident, there has been two different versions of the story. If the THK one was correct, the turkish gov, would had an excellent opportunity, to smite the Greek one, in our own feild. And I will insist on the impartiality of the Hellenic courts.

Why didnt they got advantage of it?

That the trial would have been fair ! It usually do not happen you know, and moreover if he is a serving officer he would have gotten orders not to appear.

Courts in Greek have a bad reputation in being slow and complicated, but they are just and impartial!
Moreover the pilot (…and his government ) reserves the right, to keep appealing until either the trial reaches the supreme court, or even a EU court.

ps. The idea was that his own government would push him to appear 😉

I find it hard to swallow and too much of a risk to take. The worst thing would be him being sentenced and released as diplomatic good will, poor thing will not be that welcome back home then, especially if he went against suggestions and appeared in the trial.

What particular point, was un-swallowed, my dear Indian friend?

You are not serious.. Who would be that stupid to actually appear there? Would you attend a trial in Turkey?

    You dont get it flex.

If the turkish pilot was innocent (i.e things happened as claimed by THK), and presented all facts to prove it, he would be acquitted. 😉

He knew it, he chose not to.

Of course he was not stupid to attend. Just a lousy pilot.

The Greek magazine “Hellenic Defense” will print tomorrow, the evaluation standards concerning the bid for the new fighter, that were specified from the supreme air council.

According to a prelude, at the above web page, the air force is shouting for Eurofighters, although that word, of course, is not used.

Lets see how good, the PMs hearing, is.

Much better review than they have given the Rafale hmm. So its either more F 16s or EF for Greece ?

    Right.
But now the decision will be purely political.
