If you want to do an aircraft recognition quiz there is is pretty good one here…
http://www.airliners.net/quiz/
althought the pictures are not blacked out and its multiple choice 😀
Your not the only one pogno they used to have a nice calender showing the dates of events but this seems to have dissapeared:confused: It looks like southport isn’t on the cards either.
Very true, it did only carry two missiles but it also had two 30mm aden cannon or rocket pack. Just thinking though would more missiles be needed? i thought the idea was for them to be very fast and to stop bombers before they could launch their stand off missiles. A slower plane carrying more missiles could shoot down more bombers but if it got to them too late there wouldn’t be much point as its airfields would be somewhere under the mushroom cloud. Que the harrier 😀 Any thoughts on this 🙂
For me its got to be bare aluminium 😀 lightning 😀 or anti-flash white as in the vulcan and tsr2
Good point about the tsr2, it wasn’t the greatest raf aircraft of all time but could easily have been. It’s got one of the best paint schemes though, anyone else think xh558 should be repainted white with a black radome? 😀
I don’t know what kind of situation the bev is in but wouldnt it be possible to erect some kind of temporary structure around her (tent:D) until a permanent home can be found;)
Its got to be the EE lightning for me, with a record breaking rate of climb and an awsome top speed it was a perfect interceptor. What more could you ask of it? Can anyone find a link to one of those videos that shows the lightning take off and then climb almost vertically upwards. Thanks
Does anyone know if the vulcan is going to be at Southport this year? There is no mention on tvoc website but he southport airshow site says tbc…
I think its ironic that airliners are allowed to fly with faulty guages endagering ~250 ppl yet a fully working a/c with only a couple of ppl on board isn’t allowed to fly, just seems crazy. As the old saying goes its easier to get forgiveness than permission!
