The facts; The LCA project started in the early 1980s intended to replace the MiG-21 fleet in the mid -90s.
That is the facts. Results? 26 years after the the project started the 1st prototype 2-sea version took to the skies and not a single production LCA have been produced.
Congratualations , I really mean it, to this successful project! Someday, somehow it might be completed. Like in 2035 or something….
very achievable. Thanks for confidence.
….cause somehow you do not see much of the plane.
Thats nothing!
Once a def pro sent a photo to my editor friend. It was about a ship being decommissioned. My friend wrote back “Hey! Where is the ship?” 😉
A learned friend told me that LCA is always late by 20 years every year. No matter which year, LCA Tejas is going to be late by only 20 years. Check the news in past years too, they will mention is as 20 years. How time flies
Read Again, he actually complimented:
Wow, [noise noise noise]. Congrats for this enormous success!
People have started acknowledging it.
Wow, only like 20 years behind schedule. Congrats for this enormous success!
Thank You, You Are Most generous.
Carlo Kopp and K Rudd make good company.
I wish if someone could compare a matured last generation AL-31 vs the Next gen newbie WS-10. I know its already done, but, what am asking is will there be a radical performance difference between AL-31F or FWS-10/A. China couldn’t be too mature in the stage reductions.
Lord redreidy,
Some selective answers have led to a particular argument being dubbed as flame. I wasn’t addressing you in last post.
Whats with flaming?
Colonization and its defense is not my idea of flame.
Besides, the other points have not been answered as raised before. Can you make an effort to do something constructive and not hide from debates.
One country 2 systems is familiar theme and can be applied to Falklands. So lease is over and UK hands Hong Kong it to China. Falklands is captured, so is Diego Garcia. I just can’t understand the logic as given.
Nice thinking on Off the shelf SLBM. If wishes were horses……
If UK with probable future threat has to maintain all that, then India with the current level of threat requires not less than 100 odd SSBN’s, 5000 + f-22s etc. (thinking aloud, ratios)
Adulteration?
also that tera byte size info being copied from F-35 program. Should it be significant since hi res 3 d cad cam files of most parts should be atleast close to a giga/tera figures. One way to look at it is which part of the files got copied.
ahhh that’s what your trying to do!!
those typhoons allow us to put our brave pilots in something that give them a fighting chance in any condition. you say we have no reason for them which is debatable in its self. but have you ever heard the saying ” in times of peace, prepare for war”. we may not have a need for them right now! (again arguable) but neither you or me or any 1 else here can say wt situation Briton will be in 10 years, especially with those pesky French right there lol just joking. also you have to ask yourself if we would actually be able to buy SU-30? and if we could you would have to question why people who are probably a lot smarter than you and I haven’t brought it? probably because the correct decision is to buy the typhoon!
also please explain why the SSBN’s are unusable pretty please?
Lord redreidy,
The pointer is towards rationalisation of cost vs the weapon system that is getting fielded. I would be obliged if someone could list of the British priorities. Some time back (couple of decades and before), Britain was an important center for finance, trade etc. It is not as important now. There were many other merits worth protecting. I am not suggesting if you should and should not protect yourself or arm yourself with Russian Weapons. What value Falklands have when you have meekly surrendered Hong Kong (of better value)? I am trying to debate figuratively. All i am trying to elicit is why does UK needs all these weapons. What war you are practicing for future?
Pray, tell me where do you intend to use your SSBN’s.
Really? Well, don’t be surprised if you’re not believed.
Why can’t you guys just relax, sit back and watch “David Miliband show” or indulge in fav pastime “*******ham palace”? Or tutor foreign students and issue visas for a living?
Now that’s what I call flame. And I am being more polite than Rudd. And I regret if you cannot believe.
I don’t think any African princes is about to shout “UK Help! UK help!.” Argentinians ain’t coming after you if you give them back the Falklands. N number of financial centers have popped up. Care to tell me what role UK has in the world? How much extra capability those expensive Typhoons give over the value for money Russian SU-30’s? What does UK do with non usable SSBN’s? Etc and Etc. Am trying to point out that there are cheaper options available at friendly prices which can do as much.
