AVIA 5/21 is the AIB accident reports at The National Archive and contains the pages for these accidents. I sent a copy of the Exeter loss to Ian from an earlier AVIA 5 file.
The accident cards at Hendon are Form1188/Form1180 but they may also have AIB reports held seperately.
AIB file reference is shown on the Form1180 in the AIB box but not attached to the Form 1180.
Hi Ross
Thank you for your reply, showing my ignorance here, it’s the reports we want and then really only those with photos that show the internal structure and / or diagrams showing measurements…
Whats the difference between Forms 1180 – 1188
Regards
Stuart
What type of camera would people use to take these cockpit pictures today and what lens would you choose and why?
A Wonderful Film…
Watched this last night, it truely was a gem to see, scary at times, but just to see these blokes enjoying their time with each other, their machines, their wive’s & kid’s, brilliant, capturing something that I thought was long gone…
What about contacting Graham Adlam (forumite) who lives close to this hangar and see if he could pop round and ask.
Baz
Really, I didn’t know that…
I suppose I could just ring them up and ask, but I thought I would ask here first to see if anyone knew if it carried water.
pagen01… Ah, I was waiting for someone to spot that……
Hi Cees

Mind you this is pretty low…
Ah, not that type, the same as Matt posted, with round bezels
Thanks Tony…
Does anyone have a good picture of the Blue that was later used on the bakelite bezel radiator temperature gauges please…
Apparently the film was uploaded in 2007 – 4 years is a long time… 😉
Anyhow 3D Printing will be the way ahead, when they made the plastic bike at Filton, the printer printed the hub with the bearings as well… So any internals will be able to be printed no problem… 😎
After that I suppose it will be built using Nano Bots and maybe a long maybe after that perhaps we will develope a replicator just like StarTrek… 😮
Yep, them’s 5 3/8″ dia… 😉
Or
136.55mm to be exact…
Well if BlueMax hasn’t posted it’s size by the time I get home this evening, I’ll measure the one I have, but the P6 & P8 must be the same size as Mike Eastman has a “Hybrid” Compass consisting of a P8 Base and a P6 Top… 😉
Stu…
…Or that Chris Evans recently paid £12 million for a Ferrari!
Ha! For that he could have got himself a flying Whirlwind… 😉
