if there’s one advantage of having an overweight military it is that u can guard ur boarders well. the PLA has 1m+ men that can be easily deloyed in times of war on top of any invasion force; the armed police have another million+ trained men ready, and we’re not even talking abt reserves.
if needs be, the PLA can have troops guarding every square metre of the coast within a thousand miles of taiwan and still have sufficient reserves to easily crush the tiny taiwan marines if they try a counter attack. so how are u going to get ur sniper teams in place in the first place?
yeah, today’s high cabiber sniper rifles are powerful, but they are also big and heavy, and not sth u can easily get into china in peace time never mind in times of war. even if u can get it into the country it’ll be a hell of a job trying to move it around undetected.
trying to get the weapon and sniper team into position is another matter. many PLAAF AFB are located in fairly remote areas, with few straigers and fewer roads. any straighers found heading towards the general direction of AFBs will be questioned and searched.
and i strongly suspect that the feilds with the new fighters will be in the middle of a peice of wasteland with little or no cover for miles around.

given the quality of almost all the pics available, it is unlikely that these were taken by amatures. as has been repeatedly stated my various ppl, these ‘leaked’ are most likely repleased by factory employees or government sources.
and anyhow, even if a few enthusiasts managed to snape a few shots of a fighter in the flight test centre with a digital camera it doesnt mean that a sniper team with a 4 foot rifle can get anywhere near that close in war time to an active military feild.
might TW snipers get a shop at fighter? yes, they might manage to get a few shots a hits, but thats more hopeful that probably, and will only be a flee bite at best and will never play any significat role in a cross straight conflict.
