plawolfi read somewhere that some (if not most) TV guided missiles have have a zoom lense. when guiding the weapon, the WSO will tend to use the zoom to get a better look at the target. if for some reason he looses sight of the target, he can always pan back to normal veiw to try and rer-aquire the target.
however do note that the weapon is not design to hit 100% of the time, so sometimes the WSO can just loose the target and not be able to find it again in time. in which case he can direct the weapon into the ground to prevent calatral damage, or he can just leave it or try and find sth else worth blowing up.
as for the different sized heads. well i dont have an article to back it up, but i would assume that TV guided missiles will also have the ability to rotate the camera lens to look around without having to turn the whole missile. thats probably why the russian ones have big seeker heads. not too sure abt the american ones, maybe they use smaller cameras or it could just be that laser and GPS guided weapons are prefered, so they didnt bother developing more advanced TV guided weapons.

well, i was thinking more of setting up a factory or have them build new roads to bring in more ppl to unpopulated areas, not to just send them to a deserted part of the counry and leave them there and have them run amock. (u been watching too many ‘escape for LA/New yrok’… films. 😎 )

i heard somewhere that the metal detectors at some airports were being upgraded or replaced cos the old ones cant detect some of the new fancy composit guns or sth.
im sure inmates wont get to play with materials that fancy, so the old ones should work just fine, and u can get tem at bargin prices too.

uk jobs are being outsource because of high wages, inmates have no wages, and so should be able to beat even the chinese on wages. and last timei checked, uk residents dont care much abt chinese ppl loosing jobs to their local criminals. 😉
