totally agree with the part abt needing to give prisoners sth to do. however i just dont see why so many ppl have a problem with prisoners doing manual labour while they are in prison.

surely its fair that those who have committed crimes against others (and sociatly ultimately) pay back their debt in the form of work, instead of doing more harm to other law abiding citizens by tying up scarce government resources in keeping them in prison (just think how many more lives would be saved or improved if all the money used to keep criminals nice and comfortable could be used on the NHS or state pensions!).

but she didnt do the killing. the courts sentenced her according to the law, so i think their decision would be a little fairer then our’s for no other reason then we didnt see all the evidence and hear all the arguments.

whether the law is too ‘soft’ on sentencing is another matter, and some of the sentences does seem rediculously light, just take the example of the illegal imagrant who ran over a 6 year old kid for example, two years! u can be put away for longer for animal crualty in some coutries!:eek:

back to the topic of A5s being replaced by JF-17 (jiont fighter 17)/ FC-1, i just can see that happening.

the only way multi-role fighters can participate in CAS mission is by flying high and using PGMs (sth the PAF probably would much rather use on otehr missions).

for those who advocate using the FC-1 to do the job of the A5, I can only assume u got ur ‘inspiration’ from the new American doctrine of using F35s to replace the A10 and all that. However, do remember what kind of wars American tend to fight and what kind of wars the PAF is likely to fight.

When facing a million enemy troops, a few PGMs just wont cut it.

i am a firm advocit of diversification, so i think that the A5s and FC-1s would work together much more effectively if each did the job they were designed for. the A5 can move mud while the FC-1s would be of much better using covering the A5s instead of competing with them for ground targets all the while the IAF is flocking in.
