This topic is over 3 years old but I think it is a phantastic photoreport.

The air to air is brilliant and I personally like the take-off shot from the Dusseldorf terminal, makes me realise how massive the building is.

    kind regards

Seems the slides of the Eh team have become a victim of their popularity and exceeded their monthly bandwith.

Here are some images that will hopefully console you with their temporary loss

it would be cool to see someone capture the Kingfisher A330 at LHR

Why? is it hard to catch?

Heathrow May last year (photobucket compressed this to 52KB by now)

Very nice and clear images Rob, the dark clouds add drama to the pictures.

I like the colors but go easy on the sharpening.

Nice pictures, I especially like yhe last A380 shot.

Since you are asking for tips and pointers:
The belly of the Continental is in the shadow and hence on the dark side.
If you are using photoshop, you can try the highlight adjustment to brighten things up.

I personally do not get the vertical cropping on the BA A320, most of us are using a horizontal screen so the effect is mostly lost.

I look forward to seeing the pictures from our Bristol delegation.

The Avherald was a bit clearer with the how and what of the story

    http://www.avherald.com/h?article=430a1d01&opt=0

conclusion was that the plane could not take off from this location again.
Seeing the rate at which Tu154’s (also M’s) are being chopped up at the moment I would be surprised if they made the effort to get it flying again.

this was the plane in happier days

I’ve been reading up on that Sikorsky S38 flight. From Norwich it went to Frankfurt. I found a photo of it being pushed into a hangar

A series of this type flew in the Dutch Indies (Indonesia these days) before WW2. There is a dutch aircraft illustator called Hugo Hooftman who made a drawing of this type in flight.
A print of this drawing was hanging in one of the classrooms at my old school, it looked a bit of a phantasy drawing to me at the time.
Later I learned more about the Sikorsky flying boats and discovered it was flying for real.

    bit of nostalgia for you

    Hi Guys

Don’t know what kind of history you are looking for but this is SN 3737 which was G-OLBA with Capital at one time.
It has been with Reinland Air Service in Germany with this same registration for many years

    Thanks guys.

The Transavia and Pegasus were shot against a darkening sky with the sun behind me, a little tweaking in photoshop emphasised the contrast. Hope you like it. I am still learning, but it is hard to stay consistend. As a side effect the Pegasus came out a bit more reddish and the Transavia blueish.
