Thanks for the replies guys
For PaulC: there is a platform next to startbahn west that is elevated halfway up the fence, however they have placed a second fence some 2 meters behind the first, so if you want to shoot clear of fences you have to bring a ladder. Also, on most days you will have other photographers with ladders along the railing, so you need something to muscle yourself in. The platform is also good for shooting 07 landings in the morning, for that you do not need a ladder.
I cannot help you with public transport I am usually there with my own transport.
For ATR72: I think Tui is actually earning money on these bright liveries, in any case I do not mind!

I f I read this correctly:
The 321 with sharklets may replace the 757’vens.
But Finnair may may not ordering more A330’s because they are becoming available more cheaply on the used market.
I don’t think an upgraded A321 can directly replace a A330 in range and capacity.

Hi Rab
perhaps you should exercise your fingers on google

For the best pictures I can recommend spot C in the morning and the viewing park in the afternoon

Hi Gary and Maikel
AF-C stands for AF-continious. This means that the AF constantly adjust and tries to predict where the AF has to be at the moment of releasing the shutter. This is as opposed to AF-single which focuses on the moment you half press the button and keeps that focus through shutter release.
This panning is very confusing for the AF and it indeed will probably try to focus on the nearest point. If it also miscalculates the movement it will have its focus in the wrong position by the time the picture is taken.
Add to this the motionblur from a low shutterspeed and difration effect from using high F stops (this reduces contrast and picture quality in general) and it all boils down to a difficult picture which requires a lot of skil (and technical knowledge) or a lot of luck to get it right.
You are on the right track with using the center AF point but it will work better with the plane side on because then your whole subjet is at the same relative distance to the camera. The rest is experiment and practise.

Very nice pictures, looks like you were having fun.:)
I’m surpised they have that many engine covers with Easyjet!
They won’t get out much, they look brandnew from this distance.

Thank you for the interest Gary. I do have some pictures on various sites but not many. Mostly of older slide scans which are easier to get accepted.
Most of my digital shots got rejected for various, mostly just, reasons. I have been upgrading my photoshop editing skills in the last 2 years but haven’t bothered to upload to A-net or jetphotos.
There must be more people with decent A319 and 321 shots out there, so share them!
