One other thing. This months article “Is Low-Cost really Low-Cost?, what does it really achieve, apart from stating the obvious. The only 2 routes on the list that can really be compared are LGW-BCN, then one is a single journey and the other a return. Why didn’t they do both as singles, or both as returns, surely that would give a more accurate comparison! It’s the same for the taxes. It’s more like an article I would have written at school.
I have to agree with shamrock321, there are always inaccuracies within the magazine. It varies from spelling mistakes, punctuation, captions with wrong photos, to wrong IATA / ICAO codes for airports and incorrect fleet listings. For example, the Global Airline guide last year listed all Monarch’s aircraft apart from the A330, the article about BCN listed the IATA code as BCN which is correct but the ICAO code as LFSB, which is BASLE. In the article about St.Johns, they got the ICAO and IATA codes arse about face, the information box also only states 2 main runways with different runway designators, compared to 3 mentioned in the article.
These are just a few of the things that have annoyed me. I know they are stupid little things but it winds me up.
Bmi-star – I know I’m moaning about AW on the publishers forum, but I am the customer, I pay my money and would like accurate information.
Rant over.

Well at least their not operating a 747 like last year.

I agree with LBArules, its no conspiracy, no move from Boeing to Airbus, just Ryanair looking for additional short term capacity, most probably due to lack of crews. RYR have gone from having 1 732 based at LTN to approx 4-5 738’s based there, i doubt they are fully staffed in LTN to cope with this at the moment. Monarch have the advantage of MR Jeans working for them, very useful with his contacts in RYR. The RYR flights with Monarch stop on the 31st, though i guess there may be more in the pipeline.
The MON6814/5 LGW-SSH-LGW is operated by a 757, whole series.

For your info, both 330’s left on time today!!!!
I believe they pick up spares from BAE for the Saudi Hawks and Tonados.
The reason GB Airways doesnt operate the 321 into GIB is it cant nor can any other operator, so there!
ZB are approved to operate into GIB, however as you have already stated it is payload restricted.
