50 minute transfer at Changi should be sufficient if the flight arrival is on time.
Thanks for that Kabir. I booked an early flight so if I am late there is a second flight to TPE I can be transferred to, fingers crossed!
Using the same flight myself in mid July. My first time on a A380 flying via Singapore to Taiwan (A330 from Singapore to TPE), as I usually take the slightly quicker route via Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific. Cathays’ prices have shot up this year and the SQ deal was very good. The only slight worry is a 50 minute transfer outbound at Changi Airport.
I am hoping to put some photos on here after my journey and will compare SQ with the levels of service I have received with Cathay, it should make for an interesting comparison.
Was that a Sparrowhawk breaking away in picture #1 or a swift closer in to the camera? Anyway did it have a DA for formation flying with the Yak?:)
No doubt their first names would be Miles and Supermarine :D:D:D
DH Dragon Rapide flying south over the M1, junction 13 at 4pm today.
Joined the forum to ask what type these 2 planes are seen doing a 3 circuits above Bakewell Derbyshire on election Night before heading off in the direction of Chesterfield. The first was nearer to me than the 2nd plane but both were over 1/2 mile away, the resulting photo’s are heavily cropped, Yak’s ? perhaps.
Sorry for the poor quality but it was a dull evening.1st Plane.
2nd Plane
Thought they may have wanted to vote 😀 but couldn’t get clearance to land  don’t think it would have made any difference, ours is a safe Tory seat :dev2:
I was tempted to say a strange hybrid ‘Kestrel’ powered Yak, looking a pic 1!
Thanks for your suggestion JagRigger, I love the personal safety equipment the groundcrew are wearing too ! 😉
Great footage. Can I ask why the groundcrew are checking the skin of the engine nacelles with their bare hands? Just wondering as I’m not technical at all.
Difficult to know whether to put this is Historic or Commercial forum but A DC-8 (DHL??) has just flown over my house en route to Luton.
Great selection, l like the FlyBe Q400 especially. Whats the story with the Miami Air 737?
Brilliant shots and I like the new paint scheme, it takes me back to seeing Buchons, Casas etc over my school during the making of the film.
767(?) heading over Leighton Buzzard on approach to Luton at 20.20… just passed over my house.
Are you sure it was a Puma as i thought i heard a merlin on Thursday but i did not see it though as we get a few of them?, the only other thing is a wokka once in a while.
curlyboy
May well have been a Merlin, I was driving at the time so difficult to make a positive ID. 🙂
London Gliding Club are busy this afternoon with air tows. A few microlight types out and about too. I also saw an RAF Puma in the Milton Keynes area on Thursday, but flying very low 🙂
Its mighty quiet here with no flights to and from Luton.
Just seen an RAF Puma over Milton Keynes, probably the only thing in the air around here today 🙂
Ah those were the days! Its a fascinating photo which would have been taken in the late 1960’s I think. The small building immediately next to the terminal was a cafe which had a little viewing area in front of it. I spend quite a few hours as a kid watching the planes from there. Most movements were Britannia, Monarch and Autair planes, plus a few Dan-Air charters as well as racehorse freighters. McAlpine had a big fleet, near the Dove is either an AeroCommander or possibly their Piaggio P166 which was always a favorite as a kid!
