When it came out , it was supposed to be a counter to the F-100 and Hawker Hunter but failed against the mig-21 , nowadays its Sukhoi who gets the last laugh in the fighter industry
The Su-7 was a clean fighter-bomber with Nuke delivering capabilities, with very limited fighter capabilities when it came out.
All Soviet front line Su-7 Regiments had one squadron with nuclear task.
These units practiced the delivery methods often. (like F-100)
Polish Su-7s was Nuke capable also.
But I think, Su-7 – Su-27, they had No any similarities.
The Su-7 is the first “boy” of the Su-17 family.
