I have a complete set of Lockheed P-38 technical drawings acquired from the National Air and Space Museum for a little over USD$3,500. I suggest you google them, print out the request forms and post them in. I am looking for P-38 parts if you are interested in trading.
Steve, Are any of these B-17s the armed B-17 Transport that still remains at Tadji?
Wasn’t aware that it was ever lost. After all, it has been sitting at Bamaga’s only airport for 67 years.
Ross, It’s been some time since you last posted an update or pics on your website/blog. Will you be updating any time soon? It’s a damn good read.

I wonder how many of the aircraft that were over the Japanese convoy on March 3rd 1943 still exist?
Naaahhh…………..They’re just jealous of Brum. Either that or they’re trying to move in on Wargamings publicity success.
Snoopy7422, are you suggesting there are buried Sopwith Camels in Brum???
Wow! I hadn’t heard that one before. Do the Israeli’s know about them?
Alan, Thanks for the updated Birmingham Mail link. This could be even more entertaining than DC in Burma/Myanmar. Always enjoyed “Baldrick”.
Without any hesitation I would like to say that no one can predict or understand decision of Government and also same for corporate sector. I can understand your feel Daniel, but we are helpless.
Not so helpless. As Ross (QLD Spitty) says; the premier of QLD who allowed that to happen was dumped dramatically at the last state election. Her party now has single figure member representation in the QLD parliament. She got the message.
Not sure how many Queenslanders realise their state government is the sole shareholder in an aviation business. Or, knowing, approve of it.
Doesn’t the UK have a politically active Ex-Serviceman’s Association, Like the USA’s VFW or Australia’s RSL?
Why are warbird prices such a taboo subject? AFAIK; P-38 “Glacier girl” sold for $7,000,000, P-51’s sell from $1.5 to $2.5 Million, P-40’s around the $1.5 million, F4F’s $850,000. Obviously there are alot of variables involved. I’m just throwing out ball park figures to question the $14,000,000 that is mentioned above as a possible asking price for the 109. If it’s true, then he’s not advertising one of the world’s most expensive warbirds. Must be a new selling style I’ve not heard of before.
Steve T, I appreciate your post, and this is NOT a critisizm of it, just strikes me as strange.
If the Russell 109 is for sale, where is it listed? Not with Courtesy Aircraft Sales, Classic Fighter Sales or Platinum Fighter Sales.
Finally, Someone who knows the truth.
Also, using your formula, it is quite possible (and perhaps likely) that C would end up as a negative number and quite a large one at that!
Agree totally.
RPSmith, I do not agree.
It’s a very passionate pastime and there are way too many variables to use such a simple formula. Passion and desire would drive the highest price for a BoB aircraft data plate far more than common sense.
