To compensate for my error there, here are some more pics I’ve managed to dig up:

The civilian dressed Colonel General Vladimir Sergeevitsj Mikhailov helps his wife out of the Candid transport infront of the half-confused RNoAF brigadegeneral Stein Erik Nodeland.

The RNoAF chief welcomes his Russian counterpart.

This was actually the first time Russian jets ever touched Norwegian soil.

Even if its normally strictly forbidden to take photos or films of Norwegian Armed Forces installations, the Russians seems to be allowed to do so…

This formation was flown over the city twice.

Orginally, the Flankers were supposed to do a small demo over the city a couple of days after they landed, but were not allowed to do so because of security reasons. Apperantly, they were not in good enough state to be allowed to fly demos in Norwegian air space according to our autorities.
You are ofcourse correct…time flies by so fast!
It was indeed during the middle of October 2003!
Glad you enjoyed the pics.
Here are some more (not as sexeh as the other two, though):

And here are some I’ve taken myself with a crappy 3x zoom compact digital camera:

CHECK OUT THE SIZE DIFERENCE ON THESE TWO FIGHTERS! 😮
PS: I’ve censored them acording to the Norwegian Armed Forces laws.
How about F-35 ‘Fluffy Bunny’?
🙁
Its always sad to hear about aircrashes, especially fatal ones.
Is it rumored to be a pilots error? Were the 3 Hinds flying in formation when it happend?
I like the sound of “Reaper”…
Thank you for the info/pics.
Any air-to-air shots of the Ka-50s and Ka-29 flying in formation?
That Flanker with the code ’08 Red’ visited my hometown (Bodø, Norway) one or two years ago.
Here it is along the other Russian planes (Four Flankers and one Candid visited us), beeing escorted by RNoAF F-16s.

Wow…nice pictures!
Did you take them?
The Backfire is indeed a beatiful (and lethal) plane.
Whats the story behind the Tu-22M designation? Was it something to do with economics and to indicate that it was only an improved Blinder?
And what about the Tu-26 designation? Was it ever called this, or was it just the Western inteligence agencies who got it all wrong?
I have my doubts about putting four engines in a small airframe like the F-5, even if the engines themself are light and small.
Well someone has got to say it. SPITFIRE!
Look 5 posts above you! :p
i have to admit ive never seen a spitfire before
Since you live in England, I would have to recomend you to visit the anually airshow “Flying Legends” at Duxford. They have several Spits flying each year, from the very early 3-bladed propeller versions to the late contra-rotating props with bubble canopys. Its a Spit-lovers Mecca! 😀
Maybe I can post some pictures I’ve taken there tomorrow or something.
Wow…beatiful video! Thanks a ton.
Here is the movie at Patricks Aviation if you want to download it with a bit higher quality.

I’m not sure, but I think I have to say something as dull as the Viper or the Fulcrum. Or maybe even the Foxhound.
I’m a little to young to have any relationship with those classic birds like the Buccanear and the Lightning, so I’m sorry.
But for legendary warbirds from the Second World War, I would have to say the Spitfire.
What kind of photos ??? , The photos of Granit is quite rare , compared to those of the others that we see , I doubt they would relase any photos of Improved Granit or what ever it is. It would be nice to know about the specs though from Official sources.
Isn’t this the SS-N-19 Shipwreck (Granit)?
Altough its from an Oscar II, I guess it would be pretty similar to the ones on the Kirovs.
