True, but wouldn’t the defending fighters try to “box in” the Ruskie?
Did the Western Allied navies let the Ruskies come this close to their carriers?
I was under the impression that the Russian patrol planes were intrecepted by carrier launched figthers long before they could come this close…
Wow…interesting. Didn’t knew things like these happened in 1999!
Anyway. Does anyone have pics of F-16s (American, Norwegian or Dutch, preferably) intercepting Ruskies?
That pic looks staged, as it’s no indication that the USN Skyhawk is doing any manouvers at all.
Why are the rescuers dressed up as if they were battling Ebola virus?
hahaha 😀
Funniest thing I’ve read here so far! :p
Was the plane just landed from a mission when this happened?
Hey, and thank you for the nice artwork! Are you planning to only paint US Navy planes, or will you eventually paint USAF planes, or even foreign planes?
By the way, did you notice that E-266 still holds speed record with 2 T payload over 1000 km closed course ?
And over 500 km closed circuit with 2 T payload.
How could we not notice it? You’ve been repeating it for the last 20 pages! :p
What?
I’m sorry, but I havent read this newsflash before; Algeria is going to buy both MiG-29s and Dassault Rafaels?
Do they have the funding to support two new major frontline planes?
Oh, and is the MiG-35 the same as the MiG-29OVT demostrator?
And how many F-22s will be made… and of course lets face it, this engagement will be over Russian territory so add SAM traps as well.
And how many Su-35s will the Russian economy manage…?
Oh, and you atleast admits the Su-35 needs help from SAM’s to even have a chance against the Raptor?
i think only the US equip some of there helicopters with refeuling probes, its not a very common practise..how meny [chooper tanker] hercs have they got….
I belive they have something like this:
– MC-130P ‘Combat Shadow’: ~20
– MC-130E ‘Combat Talon I’: ~10
– MC-130H ‘Combat Talon II’: ~25
– KC-130F: ~35
– KC-130R: ~15
So they have quite alot of “chopper tankers”.
And many of their choppers can perform air-to-air refueling, altough most of them are only for spec-ops.
The Perfect Storm (with George Clooney) isn’t exactly a good source! :p
No problemo…..now you make me like I need glasses :p
Heh’. Case closed! 🙂
But you do make a good point.
Why does that MiG-29 have a US flag both on the fuselage/wings and on the “Fulcrum Farewell USA 2003” logo at the fin? Did the US take over some of the ex-German Fulcrums, and this is sorta like a symbolic gimic?
I am sorry, but that pic didn’t load the first time I saw this thread…I only saw the plane I posted, which I’ve have now edited. I’m sorry.
I also find the Ruski camo attractive. But has it gotten any real use?
I mean, why do most of the Western European Air Forces just paint every plane grey, while alot of Eastern European planes are camouflaged?
Something else to consider is that even if it takes off with less than full fuel, range doesn’t have t obe compromised. Just launch another FLANKER with a buddy refuelling pod. Su-27Ks all have IFR probes.
This wouldnt be as easy as it seems. I belive very few pilots flying the Flanker-D have received actuall practice in air-to-air refueling, especially buddy-to-buddy.
