nah, DA1 is the looker. Don’t like the black one because it is so damn glossy..
I agree too, the black is too glossy… if only they gave the matt look like the M2000 in the latest french movie, then i think it would almost kill Rafale in the looks department! 😎
EDIT: To MIG-23MLD
I don’t know if there’s a size limit for canards, but I do believe the Mirage 2000 has strakes, or small vortex generators, not canards.
Well the Mirage 2000 indeed is a cool design but it is not a pure delta it has canards, it is more like the Mirage 4000.
I dun think M2000 has canards!
I do agree beauty is in the eye of the beholder but personaly i prefer the LCA, because the F-16XL wings are not as cool as the IAI Lavi wing set niether as nice as the F-16A/C
Why are u comparing F-16XL to Lavi and normal F-16 when u should be comparing to Tejas.
No doubt the Rafale is the nicest looking delta canard ever created but the nicest delta wing tailess aircraft is the LCA
As much as the saying goes “Beauty is in the eyes of the Beholder”, I very much believe that most of us would disagree with Tejas being the nicest delta wing aircraft. Its quite a nice looking aircraft, but far from being the nicest.
The F-16XL have more of that claim than Tejas anytime. :diablo:
There’s less than 54 J-10’s under production and this is verified by foreign engine deliveres. The jet itself is quite unattractive in its operative roles and a clear sign of the unwillingness by the airforce to equip squadrons is the lack of orders being placed with foreign contractors such as Lyulka-Saturn for further components.
Any source on the current deliveries of the engines?
But it seems like China is making lots of hype around FC-1, as seen from youtube videos, it would be hard to imagine they actually abandon arguably their most advance airframe.
Anyone care to share anything on this? It would be sad to see that craft go, since I’m a great fan of canard-deltas…
EDIT: On the topic, anybody knows when is the projected delivery dates for Tranche 2?
Umm wouldnt you inquire about it had you had a big launch order and were supposed to be getting the jet on commercially money making routes by now but havent ??
U bet i would… 🙂
Not wiring per say , but problems come from the fact that the plants in tolouse and the plants in hamburg were using differnt gen of CATIA which lead to things going wrong from which the current wiring problems stem –
actually i am amazed by that 300km of wiring per craft figure…
No the 747 is a jumbo ( it had that title since decades ) , the A380 is something else – whatever similar name airbus can come up with that gives it the credit for being huge !!
If this is made in Japan, i would call it the Sumo, but since its made in Europe, hmm…
A bit off topic here:
I just read a news where Singapore Air is enquiring on the reasons for the further delays of A380. And the news mentioned that A380 is delayed largely due to the electrical wiring problems and each aircraft have 300km!!! worth of wiring!
A380 is indeed a jumbo!
I think its pretty ok to just blind the satellites imaging devices for their flight over said territories… as long as no permanent damages on the lens that render the multi-billion cost of launching such satellites and the satellites themselves wasted. If permanent damages are inflicted, this will instead amount to damaging America’s properties over international space. Thus a breach in some form of international law.
If this is true, then the key is in this line…
Although the Chinese tests do not aim to destroy American satellites, the laser attacks could make them useless over Chinese territory.
The Chinese seems to be smart or strategic enough to not allow any breach of ties between them and America. Disabling but not damaging…
So that meant bare hands does it? they built the MiG-15, MiG-17, MiG-19 and MiG-21 with their bare hands :diablo:
I think crobato mean that during those times, russia builds aircraft using manpower + tools and not by automated machinery.
much like high production cars in japan are built almost entirely using sophisticated machinery, while some real expensive classy cars like rolls royce are hand built. at the end of the day u still get cars!
and main thing got a AESA within 2010.
Any source for this info? I’m kind of outdated with the development of LCA.
Btw, on the topic, its really too much speculation to do to have any comparison between the two. And moreover u are comparing a current in-service J-10 to a 2010 LCA(prototype? production model? in-service?). As of right now, J-10 is a superior aircraft in most area i suppose.
Seriously guys, i’m not here to agree or disagree with what SOC has mentioned! i am seriously interested to know exactly what kind of aerodynamic flaws that are inherent in the Super Hornet… i’m not here to look at some smileys… if pointing to a reliable and informative source is too difficult, i shall take back my request… 🙂
Are you really the only person around here who hasn’t heard about the weapon separation problems? 😀
probably! enlighten me then… seriously. 😎
Be nice if it wasn’t aerodynamically flawed, too 😀
any source?
nice pic there… would have been better if its a sharper picture! 🙂
It was performed on the airshow circuit in the late 1970’s after the F-16 won the LWF competition and the YF-17 was relegated to other tasks. Haven’t found a video online yet.
Is that the reason why that maneuver is named cobra? The name given to YF-17 if I’m not wrong.
