Reports of J-20 security from the “fence”
There are numerous reports of cameras, and camera-phones being confiscated from people there. But they are still allowed to watch the new aircraft do its “thing” on the tarmac, taxi ways and of course the runway. It will be extremely nice when the first flight of the J-20 takes place. Maybe perhaps today – or maybe even on Christmas day itself !! What a wonderful gift for Christmas. My thanks goes out to them if they can pull it off in getting the J-20 into the air – finally !!
😉
Whoever created that PSed fake of the J-20 JXX needs….
to be punished in some way or another. No one should play such tricks on us !!! And such trickery simply just makes me extremely angry 😡 Any way, when the aircraft becomes more clear to us with better resolution photos, if what reports are to believed at all from eyewitnesses, we are in for a very pleasant treat with the J-20 Chinese stealth fighter. And just for the record, I really, really hate photoshop and those that practice such BS.
I now realize the PSed image – thanks again Pinko
Sometimes one is too caught up in the moment to notice slight deceptions, and I thank you Pinko for noticing such errors. I know it had to be “too good to be true” Thanks again
🙂
Dieno is correct in his opinions and I agree with him
Here is the latest photo of the J-20 during its high speed taxi runs at Chengdu 611. Some may doubt that it is a real image of the J-20 but IMHO it is real enough. So the photos are getting better and better. The J-20 prototype appears to have its nose landing gear lifted off the runway. And it is some angled to the camera (angle of the J-20 on the runway and the angle the photographer is viewing the aircraft). The aircraft is painted dark green and has the number “35” on the forward fuselage. The aircraft is a little longer than I expected though, but it is after all a heavy-weight fighter. Some viewers and observers claim that it does have side DSI air intakes and the vertical tails are all-moving type.
If it is deleted, somebody has that pictures 🙂 And maybe tries his chance one more time
We all hope that someone did save a good quality photo before they all got deleted. I am keeping my fingers crossed for good luck – just in case – but that is ironic because I am not supersitious, but I digress
😎
IMVHO, given on how the red star is located, seems that there are not rudders over that surface, making me thinking that the whole tail is a control surface.
There seems no indication of a conventional tail as well
You are correct to assume that the vertical tails are all-moving control surfaces Over-G. And the particular red star on the vertical fin might look similar to a Russian red star (even that has changed now), it is a Chinese red star with “Gate of Heavenly Peace” symbol marked in its center in yellow. Everything is changing these days, it would appear. And when I said that the canards move independent of each they operate differentially – just like conventional horizontal tailplanes.
🙂 And I hope that I do not stray too far off-topic, but since the J-20 has finally appeared to us, when will the huge Y-20 heavy transport make its appearance??
Well from the censored picture you can see a highly canted rear tail so we are talking about a twin tail configuration.
The next question is does it have separate Elevators like the PAK-FA and F22 or a V-Tail like the YF-23.
From sources that have connections with eyewitnesses there in Chengdu standing on the fence-line that have observed the J-20 during taxi tests are quoted as saying that the tail of the aircraft reminds them of the YF-23 – with no separate horizontal tailplane. It has features of several different aircraft. The air intakes for example are said to be a cross between a Rafale and an F-35 with DSI “bumps” in the intake opening. Other unusual features for a stealth aircraft are under wing stores pylons and “pectoral” pylons – plus it has independently moving canards.
🙂
Agreed … but I have the bad feeling that this wi happen when I’m in the Winter-hollydays with the family … no internet … for one week !!!!! 😮
Deino
Surely you can get access to a pc to get onto the internet(?) But in the meantime Deino have a wonderful time with your family during the holldays. It might also depend on how long you and family will be taking hollyday. The J-20 might not fly until the first or second week of January, 2011. Or it could co-incide with the first flight of the Sukhoi T-50 second prototype. By all reports the number two T-50 differs significantly from number one prototype – or so it has been reported.
😡
Sorry Deino my friend, most of the very good photos of the new J-20 are being deleted from all forms of media by the Chinese. It would seem that security on the J-20 is extremely strict and Chinese censorship is in full swing right now.
And I am as upset as you appear to be, believe me. But there will be an upcoming official release – but very controlled. In actuallity, the Chinese are more open with the new J-20 than they were with the J-10. So there is still hope to get better good quality photos of the J-20, actually, I am looking forward to the official releases in the days to come.
More leaked images of the J-20 on December 22, 2010
Can someone please process these images? Or at least check them for photoshop? I believe the last image (of wind tunnel model I have already posted in this thread:confused:). The prototype J-20 (number 2001) making high speed taxi runs on 22 December 2010. The source is http://lt.cjdby.net/thread-1034817-2-1.html
😎
Oh yes and by the way, I wish everyone here on this forum a very Happy XMas and a Happy New Year in 2011
Now compare the images of the real J-20 to the CG below !!! And this is not a conservative design from Chengdu Design Institute 611 either.
No match in shape to the real J-20 with this wind tunnel model
There is no match here with the real J-20 (no match with this model any way) J-7 Hotdog – really there isn’t; IMHO.
Not really !!!!
🙂
Actually I see no correlation between that image you posted and the real J-20.The image(s) posted by Dongdong look more like these CGs that I posted here a while back
:D; especially the second CG (the one on the right below)
Haha, yeah I too imediately thought of F-111 when I saw it! But afte a while it looked more F-117-Flankerish than F-117-F-111ish to me. Anyways interesting that we got the same impression of it.
edit: That tail fin looks giganormus. Tornado and Yak-130 would will run off with the tail between their legs -totaly humiliated- if ever confronted by this mysterious stranger.
edit II: Just looked realy close at the pic in Photo Shop, and nothing IMHO even slightly suggests it has been temperd with. Perhaps it is the real thing after all… (If not a modified H-6 bomber shot from a weird angle, that is).
All I can see – with this poor resolution photo – are twin vertical fins canted inward. And they are not anywhere near as large as that of the Tornado nor L-15
:D:
PRC really needs to drop this super secrecy with defence programs, perhaps with other nations the need to justify investments into defence sector are greater so they have to be more open and try to keep a positive attitude, but this whole ‘it is there, and we don’t need to talk’ approach is strange.
I agree with that statement insomnia.delhi 100-percent. Too much secrecy only breeds mis-trust in all things:)
