I had the very same 1st impretion as you Ja Worsley.
But since there are already 4 out the ship is pretty real (thoughd the pic could be still prior to the launch & for that still be Photoshoped)

Here’s something… HMNZS Philomel, New Zealand’s Base in Auckland. You can clearly see HMNZS’ Canterbury and Wellington as well as one of the Anzac’s, one of the patrol boats, the Survey ship and the diving tender.

Well that link braughd me to an intresting site that has nothing to do with the HMNZS Philomel (well, maybe it has to do with the needs of the crew after several weeks sailing on the ocean ;))

I would say mine hunters are THE most boring ships in any fleet.

Actualy they´re so boring that the US is seriously considering to get rid of them 😉

Getting rid of one of your service arms is never good.

They should have at least keept one or 2 subs operational for the Submarine training school, so they don´t loose the skill if they ever wouñld need subs again.

    IMO: BIG MISTAKE

I have to agree completly with vikraal.

U-571 seemed like Hoolywood needing a US version of Das Boot which just came out realy horrible.

I made the question about if the Spruance can fire Guided Missiles becouse Turkey is to get the last to Spruance that are currently in US service.

Now, the Spruance are currently mostly Tomahawk launch platforms but since Turkey is most propably not to get the Tomahawks with the Spruance, what else beside Harppons could they load into the 61 cell VLS?

BTW, does anyone know which ship was the Interceptor in “Pirates of the Caribean Sea”?
