Why would anyone go to the lengths of censoring the image of the J-20, only to leave one of the tail surfaces exposed?

Its almost like fighter jet strip tease!:diablo:

One thing I think you can guarantee that when decent pictures get out the Japanese and South Korean blogosphere will go into a frenzy!

Might push Japan into pushing forward with its next generation indiginous stealth fighter project.

If that is the case, I would highly suggest you book the next flight and join the army of speculators mobilized there, the texiway run may still last for a while, and upload to this board LIVE via your Iphone. 😀

Now that would be interesting on the holiday visa application at the Chinese embassy in London:

I would like to visit China to go to the Chengdu factory stand at the fence and take pictures of your secret new stealth jet. Oh and buy some of that lovely spicy sauce you can only usually buy at specialist shops…

On another note it does show how times are changing in the PRC. I would think a decade or two ago if you got that close to the airfield testing a secret new jet with a camera you would be shot no questions asked! Now you can walk up with your camera/camera phone sit in a hedge and take some pictures then go home to post them on the Chinese blogosphere!

    😡

Well from the censored picture you can see a highly canted rear tail so we are talking about a twin tail configuration.

The next question is does it have separate Elevators like the PAK-FA and F22 or a V-Tail like the YF-23.

    Ah well Blackhawks indeed…!;)

The whole Puma replacement issue has been going on for decades! Westlands got the licence to build the S70 Blackhawk in the late 80’s officially for an expected Saudi contract but also with an eye on the then Puma replacement program.

With “Options for change” and the RAFs desire to have Chinooks over a smaller helicopter the plan was killed off…

Irony is we could of had Blackhawks in service now with the RAF…

PS This airframe wasn’t built by Westlands, ZG468 was eventually sold onto the Royal Bahrain airforce.

Firstly well done Pinko for hitting the 1000 post mark!

Also I concur with Pinko now there are a sizeable number of WS-10 now installed on operational squadron aircraft the situation should improve for the engine.

Nothing matures a troublesome engine better then putting it into service! The WS-10G is the variant that interests me, its increased power is needed for the JF-15 carrier fighter also I have a hunch that it is the version Pakistan would prefer for its J-10 when they eventually order it. Finally the WS-10G is a strong candidate to support the J-XX/J-20 development program until the WS-15 is ready for the job.

The better question is will the UK have new engines fitted as part of the overhaul.

It will be interesting to know which airframes have been selected from AMARG for conversion. I will be interested in researching their former life with the USAF.

Which of you is the RAF getting?
