Actually there is something I am curious about, if I remember correctly Dassault offered to fit the Kaveri to the Rafale if wins the contract.

What kind of integration process would that require? And how would it affect performance?

Thank you for that. I hope that people will be able to restrain themselves from disappointing and depressing insult and abuse a la Rafale thread number 4.

    AMEN to that!

    Realy?

Apparently YOU didn’t read them because they weren’t mentioning YOU as the source of year’s desinformation and lies but the person you duely defended without knowing or even trying to inform yourself.

And you being half French have NO RELEVANCE WHATSOEVER WHEN I COMES TO THE SUBJECT

YOU chose to make a fuss of it, it is your choice ,where you are form is the last of my problems.

So since you got no substance whatsoever to counter the points i have made to prove all this year-long desinformation to be lies, next you go to complain about what exactly?

Please reach for your painkilers and stop complaining about being targeted when in fact you weren’t, it’s only spin and twist so far from you mate!!!.:D

And next time you insult one of us I will be reporting YOU.

BTW half of what you copyed/pasted wasn’t adressed to you, obviously you’re not into the topic but looking fo a fight and a solution to your problem which is trying to salvage our dear Jack’s dying credibility.

    Good luck with that.

Yes but the post I have just quoted and reported was mainly directed at me and have been reported.

Well that explains a lot… You should try basic knowledge and then a little more before trying to defend the undefendable…

I’d refer you to some threads on Aerodynamics and systems… Let me get the links for you then you come back to us and tell US these are similar propaganda to what we saw writen for years, that these werent lies, unles your “passion” for the subject actualy lead to some further interest and you’re good enough to elaborate and debate technicaly that is…

Here you go… Enjoy and let’s SEE if you’re good enough for complaining this way Mr…

What I AM complaining about here is that WE have been told LIES for so long, our own newbies doesn’t even know their national aerospacial history anymore, now mate put your money where your mouth is and let’s talk reality here.

No more Jackoniko’s “I’ve been told” stories and forum legends…

PROVE i am lying please… I did prove all these Jack’s stories to be total inventions….

    SEVERAL TIME OVER.

The acusations as you say mate are there for the MODS to SEE for themself as for what i post my informations are constantly checkable by links and associated articles, NOT your bunch forte it seems, plus YOURSELF repeatedly INSULT other posters should I dig these comment from you for you now?

People have been submited to constant ABUSE and insults from your group and biased/uninformed poster with an agenda, as for yourself you only can go and complain after taking side without actualy knowing much about it since you duely and conveniently skiped the offensive bits and now go and pretend you dont patricipate to this p!ssing contest and anti-french bashing our community is submited to for years…

Being more aware and knowledgeable than YOU (and far more than him for that matter) on the subjects of aircraft DESIGN, Aerodynamics and flight mechanics make YOU the BIASED ones.

AGAIN you keep implying a dual personality but Lordassap is ONE poster in this forum get use to it!

Start by LEARNING what Kinetics are made of and it’s certainly NOT TWR, Mister!!!

    Definition OF KINETIC ENERGY:

Ordinary Level Physics Third Edition A.F.ABBOT.

NOW please keep pretending that YOU understand what YOU are talking fabout and “Admiting” that Typhoon have a greater “Kinetic energy” than Rafale.

This thread was “civilisely” desinformed by people who doesn’t realy know what they are revving about or willingly desinfom others.

Those who, when they FAIL to make a point stick and are proven wrong with due evidences, keep taking matters personaly and deny reality.

PLEASE have a GO ands try to prove mine (points) wrong, i am still awaiting for anyone here to do so or for anyone here to post as much informative material than i do since i started doing so.

    I do NOT cultivate ignorance.

You keep bashing up the Rafale without ANY evidence that AMRAAM would be a problem to integrate for a starter, at least it will not be more of a problem than with the RAF Tornados.. (LOL!!!).

Second; how exactly does it matter since ALL three contenders will be equiped with the next generation AAM; METEOR which BTW will render AMRAAM rather obsolete when it comes to performances…

I doubt very much that the Swiss A-F will hold to their stock of AIM-120 comes the next generation of BVR AAMs, after all they buy new aircrafts certainly not to hang outdated AAMs to them.

MICA is FAR from being a problem, it is the ONLY available IR AAM offering 360* BVR firing capabilties and as such is an ASSET to any A-F equiped with it.

Now about “concurent aircrafts” capable of remote AAM BVR firing and rearward firing?

Rafale have DEMONSTRATED these capabilties so claiming Typhoon so called “superiority” in A2A is just denying today’s REALITY.:D

I have reported this post as well as I am shocked deeply offended by your comments here, you are attributing behaviour here to ME that is untrue slanderous and an out right lie!I have never participated in French bashing I NEVER INSULT POSTERS! That you suggest I do has left me seething with anger:mad: I never looked to insult anybody especially the French considering I’m part French myself and love the country! I am certainly not critical of French defence equipment but I am happy to talk about its chances in the global market without bias.

Another thing I am going to set something out…I have NEVER called myself an expert in ANY area…actually this is my hobby and interest (I am fairly knowledgeable nevertheless)…Actually I train teachers in the education sector. That you profess expertise then insult me beggers belief!!! I am only here to talk about aviation not join a contest between Rafale and Typhoon. One thing is certain I am happy to tell you I am a hobbyest on the other hand I have NO EVIDENCE ASIDE FROM YOUR COMMENTS THAT YOU ARE AN EXPERT IN THE FIELD OR KNOW BETTER THEN ME OR ANYONE ELSE!

I have never talked about aerodynamics SO WHY ARE YOU BRINGING IT UP AT ME! I HAVE NEVER TALKED ABOUT THE KINEMATICS OF THESE AIRCRAFT!

Talking about AMRAAM integration issues is ENTIRELY reasonable and not intended to bash as you say the French…actually I agree and have SAID there is no technical barrier to integrating AMRAAM with Rafale. I do think there is a logistic, cost and political issue with integration of this missile to the Rafale. That is not bashing France it is just bringing up a very real issue which according to you is OFF limits.

MODS SORT THESE GUYS OUT OR CLOSE THE THREAD!

I hope you do not expect any form of intelligent response from HIM do you?

This is quiet an EVENT, the GURU and the pupil in the SAME topic, TWICE the amount of SPIN, TWIST, REALITY DENIAL, LIES, INVENTION etc.

NO need for tatics Mr Jackotwisto.

Only reading your posts and recouping vs REALITY is enough to make our days and yes, it looks like what you mentioned.

Just in case YOU didn’t put 2 and 2 together yet; been a LIAR for so many years is taking its toll and NOT one of us will ever believe what you write anymore because you simply are too self-intoxicated by your own LIES.

    Payback is a b!*%h isn’t it BOY?

Now please do yourself a favour, go back to the local flying school because your theorical i abysmal to say the least…

Well enough is enough, I have reported you and several others to the MODS for being abusive and effectively derailing yet another thread.

Just for your information I’m actually half French and half English with a love and fascination for aviation…I have no axe to grind or particular bias.

I’m sick of guys like you coming in accusing other people of the very thing you are doing yourself.

Further to my previous post I am appalled how some posters are treating Jackonicko in this thread. He has in the space of a few pages been called a liar, troll and mud slinger who has ruined this thread…all these points from Uber Rafale fan boys who seem to revel in ill informed comments over the modernity of the Typhoon or Bae corruption regardless of the truth.

Jack says it straight but he is usually fair, he certainly comes to this forum with a good understanding of UK development and procurement process. In this thread when we were speculating why Rafale had 9 extra sorties he SPECULATED a few different scenarios including going tech, entirely reasonable deductions without more information and nothing to deserve the wall of vitriol (including being called a liar – I say again he was only speculating) from the usual suspects.

Below is one of his replys where he clearly shows how he is impressed with the Rafale program and irritated by problems in the Eurofighter project:

    2) You say: “The result so far is a plane that the AdlA and the MN are delighted with, and which has saved lives in Afghanistan.” At last, something that you and I can agree with! I would invite you to look how many times I have praised Rafale on exactly those grounds. NOTHING is better suited to narrow French requirements than Rafale, because no compromises have been allowed to get in the way of the aircraft meeting AdlA and MN requirements TO THE LETTER. That sounds a bit lukewarm, and might sound as though I think that it’s not exportable, and will continue to be a failure in the export market. That’s not what I think. I’m convinced that for the air force who need deep strike and precision stand off capabilities, but whose AD requirements are less stringent, Rafale marks a better choice, at the moment, than Typhoon. It’s certainly not been an abject failure for the French taxpayer, nor for the French military, nor for Dassault, one hopes. I admire the French achievement in creating Rafale (against pretty big odds) in just the way that I admire the Swedish achievement that is Gripen – another aircraft that I have a real soft spot for. But I do not think that Rafale is the world-beating ‘best thing since sliced bread’ that some of the more rabid fanboys claim.

And I’d invite you to look at how many times this supposed Typhoon fan boy has criticised the Typhoon programme for the frequent delays, the mismanagement, the screwed up export campaigns, and most recently, the slow pace of austere A-G integration and the incomprehensible failure to ‘do a Rafale’ and send a handful to Afghanistan.

A fair and balanced post and certainly not the work of a troll. You guys should be ashamed…you know who you are!

could you finish your flame war in pm pls?

its tiring to cope with you and rob about childish and englanders views!

And you are just as bad I’m afraid!

What was a good debate over the Swiss contest has been ruined by the usual brigade of Uber Rafale and Typhoon fanboys.

Why is it every time these two types come up it ends up as a massive mud slinging fest!

Rafale Fans: Thicker skin please! When somebody makes a comment on this aircraft you don’t like let it go rather then imediately replying with an ever increasingly childish and well worn set of replys!

Typhoon Fans: Yes Typhoon is amazing but a bit of humility is required sometimes. Correcting well worn and often inaccurate arguments from the Rafale brigade always ends in a flame war…just leave it!

I almost clicked the report button for several of you over your childish comments.

It may seem like I am picking on the kiwi’s a bit lately but anyone who knows me, knows that this is far from the truth. I have nothing but respect for my cousins across the Tasman!

Anyway on with my question: Given that She is currently under refit to make her compliant to International Maritime Laws (IML’s) regarding double hulls in oil tankers now, could they not also extend the flight deck to take the SH-2G’s?

The hanger is sufficient to allow it to be housed, just that the flight deck is too small.

I know that they are already looking for an replacement slotted in for the 2013 time frame, but still seems a waste not to use the full potential of the vessel, don’t you think?

Here are some pics for you.

    http://pages.intnet.mu/warbirds/warships/nzendeavour070515a.jpg

This last pic is a great comparison between the Endeavour and the ANZAC class HMNZS Te Kaha, note the size of the FFH’s flight deck compared to that of the tankers.

    http://www.navy.mil.nz/nr/rdonlyres/29e7aa36-05ba-4288-b382-1eb59eff2eb8/0/tekahaendeavour.jpg

HMNZS Endeavour’s flight deck was designed to facilitate the Wasp in service back then, but with the Wasp’s retirement some time ago, the RNZN has forgotten who to use the full potential of this very important and highly capable ship.

Well I wouldn’t pick on them too much Ja as your navy is on an extended holiday…after the invasion you will be a citizen of New Zealands new West Island:D

    I suspect it does.

Well it depends on how they stated it in the contract…if it says RAF only then we have a loop hole to be used as the Fleet Air Arm is not the RAF.

That we agreed to such a contract stipulation beggers belief especially when we are taking delivery of a transport type that comes with an AAR capability straight from the manufacturer, only the pods have to be purchased and connected to the preplumbed wing points.

so if as it stands at the moment with the a-330 being the only tanker the RAF can use, does that rule out any future capacity regarding AAR of combat helo’s? Merlin, chinook, any future osprey AEW for carriers?

Anyone know how the buddy refuelling system(which i don’t think the RAF uses atm, but future carrier use comes in again) would be affected?

Actually the Osprey is an interesting point, if ever there was an aircraft type more made for CVF then that is it.

The Marines are financing a palletised refueling system for the Osprey which would sort any range issues for the F35B, also they are looking at an installation of the Cerberus AEW system. The Osprey sorts out the tanking, AEW and COD needs of the Royal Navy all in one.

Maybe they can sneek it around this stupid PFI contract stipulation by buying them purely as an RN asset, does the small print apply to the fleet air arm as well as the RAF?

And why ? If it’s the wish of the customer, why not ?

Dassault/Thales wanted the integration during the Korean competition, something refused by the US congres.
Could you point me an official document from Thales to back up your statement ?
Could you point me an offical document from Raytheon saying that they refuse to see an AMRAAM on the Rafale ?
Because I hope you remember the chart from Dassault with the posibility of weapons under the wings, the AMRAAM was on the list.

That’s why, I suppose, they asked extra flight of the rafale to test A2G functions ?

You know I have already answered those questions Fanboy so I’m not going to do it again…

Jackonicko might have a go but I’m not.

Gripen will probably win and thats that.

I don’t understand. It’s seems to be too expensive to integrate the AMRAAM on the Rafale but the difference of cost Rafale <-> Ef2000 which is much more for 22 machines isn’t an hindrance ?????

Have you got more irrational argument ?

BTW the avionics is from Thales, not Dassault.

Anyway, since Swiss seems interested with modern AtG weapons, I fear their Hornet is quite limited for now.

Yawn:rolleyes:And the fanboys enter ho hum…

AS has already been stated the Swiss are prepared to pay for any of the fighters on offer so that isn’t the main issue.

I’m talking about logistics which is completely different but rather important. I think a better way to phrase it “is it worth it spending money and time integrating AMRAAM onto the Rafale” the answer is probably no. This brings us to the main point by going for Rafale your accepting a type that has a weapons package that cannot be shared with their legacy hornet fleet.

I think it is an ENTIRELY rational argument when it comes to security of technology, neither Raytheon or Dassault (and Thales as avionics contractor if you so please) would be entirely happy about sharing information to allow AMRAAM integration and it certainly would be bogged down in paperwork especially in America.

Finally since when have the Swiss been particularly interested in Air to Ground ordanance, they have a defensive armed force and a general public very adverse to an aggresive stance. Over the years the Swiss have gone to great lengths to not be able to drop bombs, they took the C/D model Hornet a type with an excellent A to G capability and disabled that functionality.

The Swiss want a point defence fighter full stop…ability to attack ground targets and penetrate enemy air space is well down the priority list when it comes to this contest.

This is SAAB’s contest to loose.

Yep. Might even be possible to have the first few delivered as straight transports & converted later, to get them in service quicker.

I go ditto on that, not that I think we are buying enough anyway.

On another note the Falklands based VC10 replacement is problematic, frankly the a330 is too big for the role and a waste of a limited resource.

The a400 with refueling pods has a similar offload to the VC10 but again would be a waste of a limited resource. For me the best solution would be to contract out to a civilian provider which would be fine during peace time and if things got hot we would have ample time to fly down an a330 mrtt to take over.
