…………………. and I believe that it is Euromanx who are making noises about LCY – GLA too. VLM considered the route but the FK50 is not suitable!

It’s nothing to do with widebody stands! Clearly you can’t be aware of the fact that EDI is now overcapacity

It is “overcapacity” for about 4 out of 24 hours a day and that is a fact , but that can also be said of most major british airports. EDI will get its expansion but dont make the situ sound worse than it actually is!

not as far ahead as you would like, GLA

Doesn’t bother me when it happens! , but it is a fact that EDI does not require early expansion. The wide-bodies are accomodated easily elsewhere. EDI could do with having fewer remote short haul stands before their wishlist extends to wide-body stands!

For spotter friendly attitudes my vote goes to Prestwick.

Friendly attitude maybe! If you dont have a car though, it’s a waste of time!

Do you know when work will start on this Ren?

More to the point will they stick to what they said and actually build a viewing area

I wouldn’t hold my breath, as a former member of the GAAEC committee we were visted by BAA a couple of years ago and all the same things were promised. At that time they told us they had £1million set aside to create a viewing park which, they said, would house a new club-room for ourselves along with family attractions. They also stated they would be accepting a 737-200 which had come to the end of its operational life, and that it would be situated on the viewing park. All empty promises I’m afraid and last night sounds as if it was more of the same! 😡

    Care to elaborate ?

Apparently Glasgow is one of the only airports that does not possess a tow-bar for a TU154. On occasion Balkan Hols forget to load one onto their aircraft meaning that a new stand has to be allocated ie one that doesn’t require the aircraft to have to be pushed back. Could be more probs next year however, the current A320s are known to be on a short-term lease and the airline are evaluating the TU204!
