RE: And the worst songs this year?

In the UK, where I live, I would say that most of what passes for popular music (which you hear in shops and some restaurants for instance) is utter rubbish. Bland, samey and soulless.

In France, the problem is that there’s a wave of crap pop singrs and bands which are just as bad as their UK and US counterparts. There are some interesting singers, who do sing lyrics which actually have some meaning, but they do not seem to stretch their talents so far as to sing hamoniously. They warble and scream like a herd of frightened goats. Thing is, if you are brought up on this kind of music, you won’t mind. Hence (qute aside from the question of the language barrier) the only possible outlet is the unfortunate French-speaking countries.

Soak up the sun was OK, but there are some truly outstanding songs on the album, very dark, very intense. I was really surprised but loved it. The good tracks on the album are worth buying the CD for.

Bloody hell. What does it say about my life that I don’t know any of these singles…
The names are familiar, but these days, boybands, mixed bands and girl groups all seem to merge into one uniform mush of rubbish sound and looks.
Hence I avoid new stuff like the plague. Probably missing out on good new tracks.
I have enjoyed the new Sheryl Crow this year, as well as few tracks by PPK (stumbled upon them by mistake).

They look a bit meaty to me… Do you work as a marketing chap in for a burger chain (Yes, vegetarians can eat all our products).

I’ll have whatever Obi-Wan is having (he looks like a Vegetarian).
