PDV (Prithvi Defence Vehicle) interceptor tested recently intercepting target missile at 97 km altitude. PDV is a solid fuelled missile, which replaces liquid fuelled PAD (Prithvi Air defence) interceptor, which was in turn derived from Prithvi missile. PDV has an IIR seeker and is a hit to kill interceptor.
