Something something SDB-ish under works.
HAL quietly introduced 4th LCH prototype TD-4 into the flight program in December.
LCH TD4 completed its maiden flight on December 1, 2015. LCH has completed performance trials paving way for certification of basic configuration and a letter to this effect was handed over to HAL by CEMILAC in the presence of Defence Minister on Oct 16, 2015.
LCH passes initial weapons trials, certification firing trials to be carried out in April-May. It will also participate in ‘Iron Fist’ exercises.

Interesting stuff for the future.
From Malabar Indo-US-Japanese exercise:
IN used Kilos for the first time with western nations in exercise.
Indian USHUS sonar proved to be fairly effective.
Kilo managed to ambush an LA class sub.

its better to move forward with project and upgrade later versions otherwise India can affford very limited Western transports and with detrioting exchange rate coming up in few years. it will endup like Brazil.
Do you even google buddy ? Indian currency has held up the best against the rising USD and Euro over the last few years among the emerging market economies to the point where it’s hurting Indian exports. It’s up by a quarter against Euro and held at more or less parity against USD versus last year.
MTA project seems to be in serious trouble. Unlike FGFA where it’s take it or leave, there are way too many options available for MTA, the most serious one being C-130J itself, half the structure of which TASL already makes in India.
They should have purchased the Mi-17V5 manufacturing rights back with the first order and tied up with Mil for the now comatose IMRH. Mi-17V5 is currently adequate for our needs, has a local EW defence suite that the airforce is in the process to adopt and is rugged enough. One major shortcoming is that at high altitudes, it has to loiter around to gain altitude before heading up, which makes it vulnerable to Manpads while Dhruvs can dart out rapidly reducing the exposure time.

The Pechora upgrade is hardly surprising. The Pechora’s Low Blow engagement radar is vulnerable to countermeasures.

The upgrade package typically includes digitization of all electronic components, new ECCM, EO tracker, ATE, reduced cabling etc.
