Yes yes. The same thing happened then, Indian claims and no counter claims.
Combat aircraft monthly for the official story, next month
Vishnu is a fellow board member. He posts here occasionally. Maybe we’ll get more details on the board itself.

A new mystery missile is under development. High energy, long ranged, solid fuel ramjet propulsion.
This is separate from liquid fueled ramjet cruise missile.
Any idea if they’re planning a larger number of SAMs for P-15B?
While the 32 Barak-8s on P15A are far superior to the Shtils that the IN relied on previously for area air defence, they’re a bit fewer than the norm for a destroyer of their weight class. 48 or better 64 VLS that are Barak-8 compatible would be far better.
And whatever happened to the idea of equipping hypersonic brahmos 2 to P-15B?
The plan was to initially enter service with Brahmos then replace with Brahmos 2 as it becomes available.
That’s a good looking hull.

First of Project 15B taking shape.
First of Project 15B hulls ‘Vishakhapatnam/Vizag Class’ hulls to be floated out on April 20th. That was fast.
I believe a missile like a 9X has enough burn time to make a u-turn after launch. Isn’t its burn time like 5 seconds? For sure it wouldn’t have much range after the u-turn, but for WVR it could be enough.
R-73 has and it has been displayed several times.
Not likely, given that the “Air Launched Article” is basically an air-launched BrahMos that Rafale is unable to carry. Forty MKI airframes have been strengthened for the task.
ALA is not Brahmos, in fact very little is known about it other than it’s a solid rocket motor. Rafale can still carry the ALA if it is within it’s weight capacity.
x2. Unless they end up grabbing twice or three times that amount, what a mess.
They will.

Nevermind that India would need to ask the US permission to order some AMRAAMs, which I doubt they’d get.
Nic
Aim-120C7 was the standard BVR being offered by US contenders during MMRCA. Raytheon too made a pitch after Typhoon and Rafale were selected.

Besides, with Astra mk-1 and mk-2 denial of AMRAAM wouldn’t have mattered long.
Also @USS Novice: where is that nuclear deal with Areva? Do you have a link. Thx in advance.
36 + original deal is what appears to be happening.

Hope Vishnu will clarify the story further. He posts occasionally on Keypubs.
I am not entirely convinced these are weapon bays. At least I have never seen a single picture showing them open.
It was confirmed at MAKS on the video presentations running on the monitors. That screenshot must have been posted here everytime the topic pops up.
The programme for India and Russia to jointly develop a Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA), long touted as the flagship of a time-tested defence relationship, has run into a stone wall.
Just the pr guys of one side sniping the other side. You can tell why it is BS:-
Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has turned cold to the FGFA proposal. Sources tell Business Standard this is because air marshals fear the FGFA undermines the rationale for buying the Rafale fighter from France, a $18-20 billion contract that is sputtering through so-far unsuccessful negotiations.
