0.5 meter on the nose ? Tejas already has a very large nose cone for a fighter its size. Besides wouldn’t that be detrimental for the navy version ?

Additional weapons carrying capability upto 5000 kgs as opposed to 3500 kgs for the Mk1. As regards the radar, LRDE is working on a program to develop an AESA for the Mk2 in partnership with a foreign design house.

“No Russian firm submitted an application to attend the program’s explanatory session, which was a prerequisite to participate, by the Friday registration deadline,” a spokesman of DAPA said.
