@hotdog, the rear view from this little birdie isn’t exactly awesome is it ?

Military aircraft engine must be quickly developed: IAF chief N A K Browne
“This (military aircraft engine) is an area where we need to focus… you may have to steal, beg or borrow but you have to do it. This is one of the core technologies required by the nation,” Air Chief Marshal Browne emphasised.
ACM Browne is almost desperate now, didn’t ACM Naik scoffed at the GTRE-Snecma co-op ?
another interesting quote from the article which i think might be related to F-INSAS program for infantry…
Browne said another key technology required by the IAF was the latest and most advanced Active Electronically Scanned Array ( AESA) radar.
He said the latest radar should be developed indigenously as it gives a wider coverage range to the aircraft and can be used for intelligence gathering and provide information to local commanders at a faster pace.
Anti-foreign object.
FOD Screen ?
Yo You think CHINA CANT MAKE MISSILES!!!!!! And what do you think pL-12 is doing? HAHHAHA!! MASsIVE FAIL!!!!!!!
in Dreaming-Land!!
Yo like HUGE export sucess of R-33 and 37 😀
I couldn’t understand what you were trying to convey
I’m more concerned about the physical aspects of size and weight of the weapon than about the electronic side. It’s questionable that individual hardpoints are cleared for such heavy weapons and/or that they could fit size wise.
If Gripen can carry Taurus and Meteor i don’t see why Tejas shouldn’t be able to.
I think IRIS-T or ASRAAM has been confused for Mica. Are their datalinks even compatible with Russian fighters ?
With Eng. subs…pretty informative report

When they say that the engine already satisfies airforce’s requirements…. except reduced radar visibility, is he talking about the frontal radar signature or the rear ?
some may consider that, for a multirole bird, internal carriage is quite overrated… 😉
for a bomber, on the other hand, it can be considered interesting, but for the rest…
Those some usually are from nations that are not seeking 5th gen platforms to protect their own 4.5 gens.
The right canard deflected so much compared to left one, a stun scene. Haha, ask a striker to do it the same.
What happened to the colour of nozzles ?
which article?
the one where he said 400 F-18s are better than 200 Typhoons, but at the same time we suck for going foreign, go indigenous.. which defeats the point of 400 F-18s?
Yes that one :p
F 16, F 15. F 18 all have better visibility from cockpit than SU/Russian designs.
Does microsoft flight sim offer a view from the cockpit as well ?
Please don’t kill me, but from this angle it really looks like the offspring of mig1.44 and berkut. 🙂
*runs away*
its a design philosophy. Since MiG-21 days most if not all Russian combat aircraft do not emphasize rear view visibility. pilots vision should be straight ahead only
Its a sliding canopy. Most sliding canopies are angled upward at the rear end.

😉 I have long thought and commented that all these twin engined fighters would become White Elephants at one stage for the IAF. Good to know some one in the media thinks the same as well. 😉
If you might have read Admiral Arun Prakash’s article on MMRCA shortlist, that article was way better than this one with regards to cost v/s capability.
I thought helina was cancelled because they had problems with the seeker head, or was that Nag?
Neither is cancelled. Nag just had a successful user trial.
