Wow that is a very unique camo scheme! 😮

would be very hard to see against a mountainous backdrop

hey thanks. this is interesting. Did not realize it used a MiG-21 style canopy.
so if its not the YF-22 model,.. what is it?

could be any of the several designs tested in wind tunnels, after all, nearly all non delta stealthy airframes follow nearly similar layout (f-22, pak-fa, shinshin, AMCA, JSF) I wouldn’t be surprised if a conventional wing design was competing at some point.

Edit: Why does the model have a sandpaper like surface ?

    BAck to topic,

ShinShin is a really good sized aircraft for Korea,
If Japan is willing, I think it would be nice “East Asian Eurofighter”?,

Heck, even SAC’s recent self funded design if my guess is correct, should be in the same class. and layout is remarkablly similar to shinshin,
    so,
why not have a tri-lateral fighter consortium. there is no point to waste more money and time. nice alternative to F-35. may be even make some money while at it.

One may fantasize SK and Japan cooperating on a light stealth fighter, maybe even include India into the fray to make it a Asian fighter, but seriously SAC ? with Japan ? aren’t you stretching it too far ?

If one notices carefully “The Nice Rear” by Mack 8, can figure out that engines are not placed straight. They are canted outwards at the rear. The levcons in the front which are definitely in front of the intakes are also not inline with the exhaust that means compressor shielding is indeed achieved by placement of engine like that of a F-22. Along with this the superior intake blocker might have been achieved to reduce engine signature.

the intakes are slightly bent but not enough to take the engine face completely out of sight. Nearly 1/3 rd of the fan face would be visible without blockers.

perfect sense? for what? not English, not even aviation, because it’s not my major.

I know that will be hard to understand, if I expressed so indirectly. Sorry no more time to write thousands words, especially, with English.

    repeat three milestones:
    1) to absorb (this word sounds like for liquid to me whereas the ‘suck’ for gas ) boundary layer by tiny holes which be fractional on a sloped surface.
    2) the boundary layer be blown or say swept by shockwave which generated by a structure waverider alike.
    3) making the slope to be a profile by waverider theory which can be used to extrude the boundary layer out of surface.

My English is too poor to understand, yes, then abort, there is nothing important. :p

Its better this way 🙂 Even if we understand bits of what you are trying to convey, it is still very informative.

Well vanilla Rafale isn’t performant enough and they want to buy F16s?

    Go for it dudes.

    Nic

Rafale is a good enough performer, what UAE feels is it is a wee bit expensive for the capabilities it offers *digs a hole and buries his head in it*

    Another done deal in doubt…
The UAE may opt for more F-16s instead of Rafales!

After the last competion, Dassault said they would never do business South-Korea, so thats going to put them out of that race.

They might reconsider their decision (IMO, they should)

IAF jaguars routinely practice very low level flights. low enough for observers on high ground (hillocks and such) to see them pass below eye level. so I guess that should be around 30 ft.

Any picture of that would be awesome 🙂

The official Tejas website is up 🙂

    Tejas- India’s light combat aircraft

    Interestingly under the performance section

    Leading Particulars and Performance

    Dimensions

    Weights

    Aircraft Performance

    Wing Span
    8.2 m
    Take off weight (clean)
    9000 kg
    Max Speed
    Mach 1.6 / 1350 Kmph (CAS)
    Length
    13.2 m
    Take off weight (max)
    13200 kg
    Max ‘g’
    +9 to -3.5
    Height Overall
    4.4 m

    Service Ceiling
    15 km

No empty weight though (*sigh* now it cannot be condemned completely whilst comparing with Gripen C/D :p)

Btw, the site is sleeker than what is expected from GoI sites.

Edit: It has some nice unseen pics as well 🙂

Not sure what you mean by that, but if you’re saying the chinese military community would lap his work up… well not exactly from where I’ve seen. Less sceptical than the western community is but BS is BS in any culture.
I personally don’t write off everything he and APA have released just because it’s him.

Trolls are there in every culture. The way Carlo Kopp mixes open source intel with his “analysis”, he makes for a really good troll fertilizer.

Where will the arms race in SEA lead to twenty years from now? We need to stop exporting the leaping stones in technology. The balance of power was much more tenable when the superpowers held back their ace cards. If the US exports F-35 then I certainly hope it’s without ToT.

ToT is less about total transfer of critical technologies and actual designs than it is about developing the local industry by establishing vendors, quality control mechanisms and up-gradation of manufacturing process. You may argue that the experienced of the OEM, gained over a period of decades is a “sensitive technology” in itself, but then it is transferred to “friendly” nations only.

The US will sell whatever they want to sell (probably F35 because it will help them lower the cost of the F35 by increasing orders), and that’s about it.

Koreans won’t have much choice, and I doubt the europeans will bother.

    Nic

Koreans want the same thing out of KFX-3 as indians did out of MMRCA, ToT. If it weren’t for that, Indians might have simply purchased more Mki and Koreans more f-15k

    Am i missing something here..
Is there an FX III tender Going on now:confused:

“Korea has purchased 60 of the F-15s from Boeing, which won both the FX-I and II projects in 2002 and 2008”.

Yes there is a considerable chatter over KFX-3 for Korea, (FX-3 the reiteration of Brazilian tender is basically just unsubstantiated rumors)
