can anyone confirm or unconfirm my memories of CKT operating the A300 as part of a wet-lease agreement with Air Scandic? I believe the aircraft was only ever positioned at Glasgow because of operational restrictions CKt had with the rest of the fleet in that size cat e.g. L1011/DC10. Anyone shed any light??
While we’re on the subject of airscandic, does anyone have any idea what the fleet proposals are going to be in the near future? The last I heard the A300’s were either going to be scrapped or sold on for cargo conversion with the 757 being slated to take-over the ops!?
Cheers,

well it all seems like good news, which is lol, good news!
I’m very keen for the 757 operation to start but christ, 33″ pitch and meals – its too far away from the low-cost etos if you ask me but we’ll wait and see.
Glad to see Air Scotland operating from Newcastle, saw one of their aircraft the other week (quite a nice livery). These services with the extra ones by easyJet to the likes of Bristol (taking over the Brymon/BA Dash8 services) and Prague which start on the 1st August.

well i’m afraid that im going to stand up and say “if the features there and people want to rate posts – let them”. it really is an individuals own business.
I realise that this post will have probably come about with the best interests of EAL in mind (well done Mr Halstead) but I have to say that I totally misconstrued the initial post as being a tad tedious to everyone and extremely patronising to EAL_KING himself…
How can the whole topic of leaving someone to post (in a more coherent fashion in this case) come about if the initial topic keeps getting thrown back up in the clouds so to speak (a semi-pun on the forum there guys :D).
Im not sure how many times i’ve said it now but please, for gods sake, in the interest of just my sanity even, can we forget it!?!?!?
cheers,
LGKR
i don’t particuarly think that this is the place and i dont believe there’ll ever be a time for it. I for one don’t go for the whole “has anyone got a problem for me?” because this is an AVIATION RELATED DISCUSSION BOARD ON THE INTERNET. come on guys, get real!

As i had mentioned before the hack, I believe that many of the similarities in fleets e.g. 757 AND A321 are down to the mergers and/or takeovers the charter carriers have gone through.
Air 2000 for example acquired the A321 and 767-300 fleets after their parent company First Choice Holidays bought Unijet holidays and hence the two airlines Air 2000 and Leisure International having their operations merged. On a similar note, can anyone shed any light on the rumour that Air 2000 are or were to shortly receive A330 aircraft as a result of their merger with Leisure Intl?
Flying Colours only got A320 and A321 aircraft in the fleet as a result of taking over the ops of Airworld Aviation although this seemed to have worked out well with Flying colours and caledonian (also an A320 operator) merging to create Thomas Cook UK nee JMC Airlines.
Wys, do you know if the newly delivered A320 to Thomas Cook UK went straight to the Belgian arm or was it operating from the likes of MAN or LGW first? Also, do you know what TCX are intending to do with the A330’s? Rumour had it that they’d be going with Condor 763’s operating in their place!?
Anyway, after much digressing and hitting back to the original post I suppose that the airlines, particuarly the charter airlines cant clarify on their fleet plans at all. maybe because of the sheer nature of their business? Monarch, Air 2000 and My Travel all seem to use similar aircraft in tandom with the 757 and A321 operating alongside each other 🙂

isnt it asperges syndrome you have andrew?
good luck for the events in any case, will detainly take up the offer of being a pilot in the event if its still there!
nearly 18
Caledonian 757-200 Newcastle-Corfu in 1992
can remember it still, loved the whole tartan theme that they had onboard then, very classy!
go DIGITAL!
everyone is to be honest plus its making me a small fortune in commission! lol
T5, check out the Fuji 603. you’re going to get a 6million effective pixel output (which as a photography student i’d imagine you’d know is pretty fantastic), i believe a bigger LCD screen than other cameras in its class, of which there isnt many and a movie mode feature which you could use for classic take-off and landing rolls.
obviously, the movies are going to use up a hell of alot of your XD card capacity but like we tell people at work, its all personal questions!
i’ll try and advise on here if i can, just post back and i’ll see what i can do for you!
cheers,

LMAO EAL_KING, dont think it works like that mate!!!
