RE: Belgian Pilots flying with the RAF
I’m on the case. Fingers crossed, my message requesting info will be passed onwards and upwards…..I kind of know a man who knows some men, if you catch my drift. Here’s hoping!
RE: Info on French pilots flying for the R.A.F.
Ok, the two who flew for 609 (West Riding) squadron were:
Sergeant Armand ‘Fifi’ De Saxce, (1941 – 42. Killed with 341 Sqn 10 Apr 1945) and Flying Officer Maurice Choron (1941. Killed with 340 Sqn 10 Apr 1942). That was the rank they held whilst with 609. The name’s in Google gave me:

There are some good sites there actually, under Choron, perhaps I will need to spend some time looking at them!

RE: Belgian Pilots flying with the RAF
Unfortunately not. Was he a fighter pilot? I was thinking more along the lines of the Belgians in 609 Squadron, and the various books written by them…..Quite a few books, and there are millions of photo’s of them. Perhaps an easier project for information…However, I can ask around for you – perhaps one of the people I know has heard of him, or can find something out.

RE: Info on French pilots flying for the R.A.F.
Pierre Clostermann springs to mind. Wrote a few books, which you may find on http://www.abebooks.com (a secondhand book network). There were also a couple in 609 sqn, (can’t think of their names at 930 in the morning) and more spread around. Now, if you were doing Belgians…..well, then we would be ssssmoking!
RE: Forum Getogether?
How’s about ‘Between Friends’ by the Boulting Brothers – 609 Squadron at Biggin Hill. Its amazingly good, just like a Harry Enfield sketch. Of course, its not so funny when you realise where all the ‘actors’ went. Anything like that would be great. DBW gets my vote too.
RE: Radio Times ‘Dambusters’ letter…
How could they make films of those? THEY LOST! Anyway, they started it,they invaded Poland. (From Dambusters to BOB to Fawlty Towers). Why was she whingeing anyway? She should be proud of her roots, she sure as hell would have been if Germany had won. Didn’t have to watch it did she?
Deutschland Deutschland Unter Wasser….

Hoho. That is close. I’m pretty English, but completely nuts.

RE: Forum Getogether?
How about a couple of lesser watched films? I mean, we all know BOB off by heart. Dark Blue World would be good for those of us who couldn’t find it being shown locally, but target for tonight sounds like a good idea, maybe that and another oldie?
But yeah, I’m (hopefully – I am married) up for it.
RE: Forum Getogether?
How about meeting up at the flying club? I hear they have a pavilion full of dead flys…..
RE: Quiz: Name that movie.
Ha, now I’ve got you!
“it seems that one of our aircraft is missing”.
Nope. I think i’ll get my coat.

Bugger. I don’t have the hang of the question bit.

I have recognised 6. I must watch all my movies now to find out the others. What a terrible thought…..
RE: Dark Blue World
It was on for TWO days in town here. That’s the only time I heard of it locally. I found out the day after. I am fed up.
