To tell the truth, I am not convinced it’s a good deal for me personally. My travel-company wanted Friday and Saturday. Going all the way from Scandinavia I was a bit puzzled why we couldn’t stay for the entire weekend so we wouldn’t miss out on any action. If it was me going alone, I would go all three days to be sure. I don’t really want to pay that kind of money and then leave almost halfways thru it. I’ve been there Sat and Sun every year since 06 and Sunday in 05 and I’m conservative enough to not try to fix stuff if it’s not broken. Not convinced, but too late to change now. Majority speaks.
To be honest last year was an exception, as virtually the entire display programme was of aircraft not resident at Dx. This year barring any last minute CAA issues will i should imagine be ‘back to normal’.
Last I checked, it said ‘suspended’, but I’m not saying either this or that.
My travelling buddies are less into it than I am. I am a warbird/historic aviation/ww2/fanatic. They’re just into it…big difference 😀
Not the best in German.
Have they bought it?
Well I’m going. Flights and hotels booked!
Took a girl out for a date. Huge troubles with pimples popping up. Didn’t do well with that one at all! Can’t belive it’s been 10 years.
TE554 is absolutely stunning. I was happy to see it in 2007, but wondered if they actually did fly the Spit any more. Good to see it in the air. It’s a superb color scheme.
Fantastic poster.
So the movie is back on? So confusing. Last I checked people said it was most likely canned.
The french guy at Legends rambled on about it for the entire weekend of 2008. I was surprised to see her again in 2009, considering the amount of time spent talking about her being “put to rest”.
As they grow fewer, it’s up to the ones (like us – with our interest in this subject) to continue to spread the word and tell newer generations of these mens sacrifice and heroics. It’s the most important task of all.
Read somewhere that Richard Grace got a XII pending restoration/reconstruction. Any truth to it?
Former Tank Bank, although closed off now – there’s good spots there. If you want the aircraft almost going over your head, thats where you go. If you want the sound and the oil you go down towards M11. I’ve done all. East, west and middle. I have concluded that the only place to be for me is by the Tank Bank.
Lawn chair? No way. The thing moves when you add pressure to the stick. Also, when you reach out and touch the cockpit in VR, your hand touch the cockpit at the same time outside VR. It also adds to the first and important sensation of fitting yourself into a Spitfire cockpit before you pull the VR on you.
I tried it last weekend, and I was dizzy two hours afterwards. The thing is brilliant.

I know of secretspitfires.com and heard bits and bobs about what they had planned when I visited Worthy Down in Hampshire in 2016.
