I know one of the Spitfire restorations is the The low back version that crashed in Sweden I think.
You mean Norway?

“I wouldn’t tell the CO that sir, not if I were you”
ah sorry, just noticed the website in your sig, my bad!!
Shouldn’t promote sites with uncertainties in them anyway 😀
64 Squadron 1942 according to this website where the picture is posted, just searched on google for Arne Austeen and eureka!
It’s thought to be 64 squadron, based on Austeens flying career. I don’t think the author of that website is 100% sure! 😀 If Duncan-Smith is in the picture, I can say with 99.9% certainty it IS 64 squadron, as it was the only squadron Austeen and Smith flew together in.
The video is there? It says missing plug in to me, which I find a bit odd as I’m usually updated.
I’ve been thinking the same thing about the break, as logically, one would think the left one should go first. I wasn’t gonna say anything as I don’t wanna put my mouth where my knowledge is not, but since the above poster mentioned it and seemed to have some experience…
I was pretty much ‘hooked’ after watching the Battle of Britain with my dad in ’69, this is a film (Dambusters) that dads of today will take their sons to watch and catch another generation of youngsters to (and maybe) want to be involved in the future of aviation.
This film is important.
Baz
Indeed it is, and the embaressing fact is that many of us seems to have a thing against it, like it’s some form of sacrilege to touch that movie.
This is how we catch a new generation. It’s what caught me with the same movie as mentioned above AND Memphis Belle (amazing isn’t it, considering the historical flaws).
Taken by one of our members I see 😀
Funny that Hawker Fury with the spinner from G-FURY
I was in Le Fertais after the accident. I asked one of the pilots if the Skyraider pilot was ok and he said he was, but seemed to put the blame with Rob Davies. I didn’t pursue the conversation.
I guess the right people will put the blame where it should be, but I honestly have to say that I can’t see how the Frenchies will come out on top on this one.
I welcome anything with flying
Thanks.
What a character.
“Would I exchange Christmas cards?”
*Most people then thinks he’s gonna say a dramatic “no way”.
And then says;
“Propably I would”.
Blocked in other countries.
Am I right in thinking the wooden blades shatter rather than bend like aluminium would, thereby protecting the engine and reduction gearbox from some of the worst shock loads.
Richard
Sounds logical to me
