Why make it in Spanish markings? I cant think of anything more boring than seeing a 111 in air (whatever its a Heinkel or a CASA) and not seeing it in BoB colours. What a letdown that would be.

most people were smiling quietly to themselves at the topgun music playing in the background

    I beg your pardon!!! 😮 😡

They played Metallica’s “Fuel” and Motley Crue’s “Girls Girls Girls”. Now that’s hardly Top Gun music!

I dont get this whining about chairs left infront of the fence. Just what do you expect? People want a good place, they show up early, then find a good spot and take off for a few hours to educate themselves on air warfare. Do you expect them to drag their chairs around all day or maybe just not take the tour at all?

And besides, on Saturday I sat infront of the fence and had a very good view. On Sunday I backed off towards the Shackleton and the loss of view was so little its not even worth mentioning.

Last I checked, the action is in the AIR which means not on the ground!:diablo:

Congrats to Stephen Gray and everyone involved in another amazing event.

So long as you know I don’t mean to insult…. if you laughed, it worked.

Have you seen mustang 01 ?…..that aircraft needs saving…

Didnt take it as an insult at all 😀

Actually, all the planes there needed saving and a good wash up. Only the black Spit IXc was in top condition. The static ones were in terrible shape. Dakota’s rotting away in the sun, an Avenger with paint coming off, Meteors in poor shape….everything rather horrible.

    Didnt see Mustang 01 though.

    Israel?….

    Cheeky b…. 😀

After a quick check with my girlfriend, she told me its close to Be’er sheva. It’s also where the airworthy Israeli Spitfire is at. I saw it in person and it was beatiful in black and red.

Whilst it didn’t operate from DX, I seem to recall it doing a full display on the Sunday last year!

I can only remember it flying past both days? Well as long as it will be there this year too 🙂

The Lanc will probably do like last year, couple of flybys and then bye-bye? No display I presume?

According to weather.com, weather will improve by next weekend. A bit too early to tell but it looks decent.

I find it hard to understand the attitude. Do you imagine the team that put this idea together aren’t gutted? The fact is that they are continuing to show great dedication to the project by continuing with the other aircraft. What we should be doing is applauding the professionalism of those involved instead of bemoaning the fact that ‘Glacier Girl’ isn’t going to make it this time.

Just be thankful the pilot and aircraft are safe and in a position to be able to try again in other years.

And if anyone’s ‘Legends’ is likely to be ruined by the non-appearance of one aircraft, just think of the time, expense and sheer physical effort by the organisers, pilots, engineers and volunteers who make ‘Legends’ what it is.

Go along anyway, barring the weather I know I won’t be disappointed.

I do belive you put a bit too much into a small sentence. I wasnt questioning anyones professionalism or dedication or anything like that. All I said was that the whole idea of the operation was to bring the airplane over and that won’t happen now. I’m sure the people in charge are moaning just as “much” as we do. Chill my friend.
