i can remember the days before the manchester viewing park when the airport did have terraces, accessed by turnstiles to the left of the domestic arrivals area (now terminal 3 building)
the best part was been able to walk to the end of the piers which still form part of terminal1, no security in those days, but then nobody thought they could lob bombs at the planes 50 feet away!!!!!!

but coming back its Easter Sunday, so planning to fly Gatwick-Manchester in the afternoon and the train from there.

Aeroméxico flight AM576 was hijacked during a domestic flight from Cancún Airport (CUN). The hijacker, a 44-year old Bolivian preacher, claimed to have three bombs in his possession. He demanded to fly over the Mexico City airport seven times and to speak with Mexican President Felipe Calderon. He surrendered after landing at Mexico City-Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX). The three bombs turned out to be juice cans filled with sand. The preacher said he was on a divine mission linked to the date of the hijack because the numbers 9/9/9 were the opposite of 6/6/6 the numbers associated with the AntiChrist.

i thought 20 was for long haul charter, grey area for short medium haul some do 20 some do 15.
but hey 2 years ago did (the now ended) BMI Man-Antigua run as part of a Thomas Cook package and was offered the standard BMI 63KG for long haul, i don’t think we had 63kg between the 3 of us let alone each!

if you get a choice when you check in ask for 2 seats at the rear, as even though TC A330s are 3-3-3 in economy, the last couple of rows at the rear will be 2-3-2, one of the 2s will allow you privacy anda window, with good views being well aft of the wings
