it was not remote control, the pilot ejected (or jumped)
and a bit better result on the ground than the 707 that was supposed to show non flamable fuel in the 80s, but landed wrong and burst into flames!!!!

the back end does look very 767ish, no major redesign there
the wings do look very bendy though

shame they could not have used the art deco original terminal for one
    since it closed mid 80s

Done many flights in the BAE Kingairs from Barrow, most of them unexciting but had a few that were more fun
Landing at Filton in a crosswind and getting a good view down the runway as the plane slid in sideways was one of them
an engine refusing to start once and then when it did 2nd time the resulting flames from the exhausts of the unburnt fuel from the 1st attempt
    just to name a couple
oh yes and one day during descent past Blackpool a Typhoon popped up along side us, and then dipped underneath to the port side before igniting his burners and shoot off towards the Ilse of Man

similar to summer charter days at Ringway in the early 70s when the Dan-air comets and Court 1-11s would overshadow the odd Britannia 737

ok i know not something one would be happy to photo
but i did an airport run for my wife’s friends one sunny summer morning in 1980s, Barrow to Ringway, if it had been the following day i would have been there as the airtours 737 disaster happened
