Dish on Y-8 ………. It is said the Y-8 dish AWACS is designed for export market. China is offering a totol solution rather than offering a single type of fighter (FC-1) to the world market:FC-1+Y-8 dish AWACS+ground radar+SAM+ data link/C3I…to form a big system. 🙂

Yeah,you are right.Just before this magazine was issued, the Official Mascots of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games was released. So the editor’s notes talked about this topic and then went to the progress of aviation industry projects in China :
1. Nanchang’s L-15
2.Chengdu’s FC1 04 and Stealthy “New type plane(J10)”
3.Guizhou’s JL-9
4.Shannxi’s Y-8 AWACS and SAR
5.Shenyang,Xi’an,Shanghai’s projects:( J-11A/B, ARJ21…..)

The stealthy J10 mentioned in the news may be an interim product before the service of China’s real stealthy fighters,I think.
