Finally some good quality J20 pic
Hate the photographer for watermarking on the plane itself…
A better look at the adjustable intake.

BTW, it’s Black Ribbon, as the Chinese call it.
new close-up pics
Well, these are actually crops from a rather clear pic on Jun. 15th.
Probably the most detailed pic yet, with the weapon bays and nails clearly visible.

I think the most interest thing is that the right intake appears to be further extended than the left… Definitely adjustable.

Beoing’s first chief designer Chinese
Hm, that is only if you dismiss the claims, that those two are built from Russian and Israeli blueprints.
But I think you misunderstood me. I didn’t mean to say Chinese engineers were unable to pull off something great. It’s just that there haven’t been many famous examples yet. Given that China was pretty much rebuilt in only 35 years, maybe that’s nothing indicative.
Well, or maybe I’m just talking out of my **** without any relevance to J-20. Might as well end this here.
Well, you probably forgot that the first designer of Boeing was a Chinese…
“Wang Zhu was the first chief engineer of Boeing in 1916. Wang was born in Beijing. He studied aeronautical engineering at Armstrong Technical College in London and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. He designed the Boeing Model C seaplane, the company’s first successful airplane, landing Boeing with it’s first contract. In late 1917, Wang returned to China.”
After returning home, Wang co-founded the first Chinese aircraft factory, just 2 years after the founding of Boeing. In 1919, he co-designed the first Chinese sea-plane for the Chinese navy.
You probably never heard of him because America doesn’t publicize these examples.
Hundreds of thousands of Chinese traveled abroad to study science during the first half of the 20th century. They worked extremely hard, fearing that their civilization might be lost, and many of them came out best of the best. Most of them rejected greencards and returned to China. Some of them made it home, some were placed under house arrest, some were jailed and some were even assassinated by westerner governments at the begining of the Cold War to prevent China from rising.
We know little about them, but they’re there.
Adjustable intake?
If it’s true, I’m not sure what that little adjustment can do?
