I think its a later prop. Most early wooden props were 8 hole, not 6.
Not always the case though. Im tending to agree with Mike.
Possibly 90’s microlight?
Hi there.
Prop diameter is 5ft?.
First number usually prop diameter, so im guessing 62 inches.
Next figure is possibly pitch, 40 degrees.
The last number is generally maximum horsepower…. i think, although 508 is a bit strange, i would have though round up or down. so 500 or 510.
As for the 1809 3 90, im stumped.
Its odd that demobbed still have it as at Barton – they have been very fast to change the location of all of my Vampires in the past; why not this one?
Do I take it you are a previous owner Bruce?, if so what happened to her?
Anyone know how i can get in touch with the aforementioned chap?
Need to put this one to bed, if it is a lost cause.
Thanks for the prompt replies chaps.
Barton Manchester?, thanks will do some hunting.
My posted pic was shot in 2010 apparently, so my quest may be in vain? The airframe i seek may have been scrapped?
One word……………******.
Thanks again.

Thanks guys for all your replies, I understand the jettisoning, the un-fired bit, but do any of you know of any crash sites in or near Harlow in Essex, so I can do some more research. Turns out they are both U.S, but made in different years ( 42 and 43 ) and also in different munitions factories.
Thanks again

Hi there,
anyone know of any reported crash sites in Harlow, Essex, U.K?
A work colleague of mine lives there, and unearthed 2, 50calibre cases. Dated 1943, from his allotment. We know Harlow didn’t exist as such during the war, and we think, if there was an aircraft crash here during the war, it may have possibly been from, North Weald. Although the cases are U.S made.
Thanks in advance.
Swampyrv.
I flew from 616VGS Henlow, in the 80’s.

Andrewsfield aerodrome ( great sailing, Essex ) have a complete a/c on blocks.
I am not sure who runs the club anymore, but the plane has been there years. I am sure if you ask nicely….
Hi there,
Main wheels, port or starboard? Or both sir?.
Oh dear. Another really helpful, considered and mature response.
In jest i hope?
I certainly would have done, unfortunately for me, and through no fault of my own, back in 1985 I failed the R.A.F medical.
I think i have the answer, get some of these bloody human rights do-gooders to go and clean the sick mess up. Then let them tell us that the person responsible, “Did’nt mean to do it”.
Especially if the do-gooder was a relation of someone, who’s name appeared on the memorial.
Why should the benches be removed just because some sick, lame brain, decides that they have the right to deface the memorial. Surely that would be in some respect letting them win.
Bring back National Service.
No Iam not some ‘ old boy ‘. Iam 39 and wish I’d had the chance to do it.

Station 166 Matching
Matching can be found if you take the A1060 from Bishop’s Stortford to Chelmsford rd. You come into a village called White Roding. Almost opposite The White Horse pub is a turning to Matching Green, take this turning drive approx 1/4 mile the road splits, take the right fork, and that will take you right through the old airfield site from one side to the other. The old tower is still there although its used by Raytheon Defence Systems, this a public road so you can stop wherever you want. A few old buildings remain used as industry now, and the old water tower is still there as well.
