I think they were surprised to see Leclerc MBT, AU-F1 155mm artillery unit and Mistral Manpads so they provoque the French to see if they open fire
in “peace time” so they can be sure that they will not do it in “war time”
with the Hezbollah in a few months…
I think the equipment mentioned here, is more for defence against Hezbollah rather than Isreal.
The French, remmember, had a bad experience with Hezbollah the last time they sent in Peacekeepers…as did the United States.
So any UN force, was always going to be robust.
I hope the IDF isn’t going to harrass the french soldiers enough, but if they do, I hope the french soldiers will defend themselves accordingly… I definately don’t want to see a repeat of the Ivory Coast Su 25 raid, so they should shoot first and ask questions later.
A warplane has no business making a fake bomb run against another country’s troops.
Nic
A very good point, and one which in no doubt is in french minds..
Other than Argentine examples, does anyone have any pics of other foriegn users?
AFAIK, neither the venezuelan navy, national guard or air force havenยดt signed any order for russian helos (yet) but there are strong interest in them and is very likely to sign such a deal about them..
BTW, whatยดs the address of that site you said…??
TIA,
alberto.-
Sorry Alberto, but i dont have the site address.
I was just browsing a Russian Forum, clicking on the links in hope rather than expectation, since i dont speak Russian.
Sometimes i have up to six windows open, all in russian, and its hard to keep to keep tabs on exactly what im clicking on!. ( some nasty surprises usually appear, since a lot of the sites are not monitered ๐ก )
Also, i always clear my cookies ect after browsing Russian sites, since you never know what you may have inadvertantly allowed into your PC ๐ฎ
I think it may have been Avia.ru or something like that.
Wish i could be more helpfull ๐
This thread is hilarious!!! I am laughing out loud reading this, keep it coming guys, the Modern Military section needs more humor like this!
Its a weekend thing ๐
It should get more serious tomorrow evening, when people start to realise its back to work on monday
There is as much chance of Leichenststein invading Russia, as there is for an American attack on France…..
And i would rather have a thriving weapans industry than live under the control of any mad mullah and his gang of cut-throats.
Man…this site becomes surreal at times  ๐
To my knowledge, im certain that they have never appeared in the green and grey scheme.
They have either been painted green or grey, and for Arctic exercises with white applied….very nice too ๐
No, they will not. Even such hardliners will not face the whole world about that.
A small, but an important detail. It is not France, but the whole UN and voted for by the USA too!!!!!!
Agreed, but….. ๐ , i seem to recall a little incident during 1967, when the Isrealis had a go at the US Naval ship Liberty.
Off course it was an accident
The isrealis will just do what they percieve is best for isreal first, and the world secondly.
And with that in mind, maybe the french ought to be a little carefull at whom they point their weapons at ๐
It’s a Venezuelan Army Mi-35M
Banshee, try using imageshack to post pictures and hotlink them to this forum/thread.
Don’t erase older pictures! They are priceless!
Thanks mate…will try that and Photo-bucket, then decide which is best.
Back to the Hind…
Venezuelan Army examples are painted in a two-tone green. And im sure that the grey paint on the Hinds pictured is not Primer….
My bet is that these are Venezuelan Navy examples, fresh from the paint shop.
On the same site, there is also an image of a Venezuelan Army Mi.26 in primer, and these are to be painted in the same two tone green scheme as applied to thier Hinds.
The primer on this Mi.26 was not grey.
But i could be wrong
Let me try to upload Banshees images…
Cheers mate! ๐
Will get some Hind stuff off to you over the Weekend.
The Image i am unable to post was taken during may this year, within Russia. Its a lt.grey painted Mi.35, and is destined for an un-named air arm.
Mexican Navy???? Venezuelan Navy???
Guess we will never know, since i cant post it ๐ก
Now Im Bloody annoyed!!!!!!!
Could someoine at Key, tell me why im unable to post any images????
I am trying to post a single image that is 45KB in size, yet im apparently over the limit by a whopping 15MB? ๐ก
I have had to delete a lot of images from this thread, and can still not post a single small image!!
Personally, deleting older images only wrecks the thread.
Can someone please sort this out ๐ก
Bloody hell guys….the start of this thread was meant to be only a joke :p
This is really funny…..i cant beleive how a joke has turned into a full scale flame war!!!!! ๐
I agree with everyones point of view on here, however…the geneva convention is clear…
Soldiers caught wearing the uniforms of thier enemy, are basicly classed as spies.
Wrong i know, but….
Are we classing these guys as normal soldiers?, they have been indoctrinated since a youing age towards an act of martydom.
Do we shoot them on sight?, do we send them to gitmo?.
The problem is, that… these guys will always be hell bent on killing you, me and everyone else who disagrees with their warped vision of life…
Twenty years in nick, aint gonna change their view, and you only have to look at how they treat their prisoners to see what they think of the Geneva convention!
Its a nasty world we live in, with two civilations heading for a showdown. Im just glad it aint me making the decisions ๐
EdLaw, extremely good point you’ve made! I’d almost be 100% sure you’re correct on that. I was wondering why they’d be using M-16 lookalikes, and uniforms, etc. Pretty interesting, and disturbing at the same time. :O
I’d bet it all on the point that they might be training to infiltrate the new Iraqi army, somehow; and/or pose as them and kill civs to make the Iraqi army look bad. ๐
I hope they keep an eye on for these b*stards.
It gets a little more ominous when you consider that the troops pictured, are from the Revolutionary Guard.
Just the guys for such a job, since they are about the only branch of the military that the zealots in power, actually trust.
Plus they dont mind dying whilst doing the job either.
Oooops
