Americans are tough and non negotiating when it comes to terrorism especially in Afghanistan. While Brits are eager to engage the Taleban in dialogue and solve the issue diplomatically, and very eager to pull out. It has to be noted that the defeatist statements coming from British officers serving in Iraq in BBC and other media do not help the coalition causes either.

British do not want to fight the war in Afghanistan, the Americans do. And i do not think its good to keep people who no longer want to be fighting there.
I like the commitment Bush and now Obama has given to the war in Afghanistan, I am yet to see a positive commitment from British for a long time.

And about the Iraq mess. Republicans will have the last laugh as in future the Oil in iraq is going to serve America well. And George W Bush will be hailed as a visionary, years from now.

Personally i dont blame them.

Sent on a job without any real political conviction and starved of the proper equipment to carry out the mandate asked of them from their political masters.

Too many good men have died as a result of UK’s reluctance to fund her Armed forces adequately.

Hopefull this report will open some of their eyes, though i wouldent hold my breath.:mad:

Decembers AFM had a lovely pic of a Chadian SU-25 in it. Ive searched as many links as is proberly humanly possible, But someone somewhere, does have a his res image of it:eek:

BTW, the Frogfoot sports a new, amended version of the national markings:)

I agree, from an air-conditioned office in NYC their behavior might look insane. After someone put you in a tent in Gaza and left you to rot there for one year, who knows, maybe you’d ask for few rockets, as well.. 😎

Dont forget Flex, that there were quite a few Air conditioned offices within the Twin towers. They got obliterated by some islamist nuts, killing all inside of them.

Should Israel await for something similar?

The Palistinian question is a rightcious one, but the world has passed it by. I really feel for them, but they are now simply pawns in a percieved Islamist war against the west.

2009 is a very different world from 1967 or 1973.

…and it will be a couple of weeks yet before Israel has finished Air ops on Cast Lead. As for her doing ground ops, I believe the kit is being moved into place….but that may just be for border protection.
I am told that the people that have spotted the targets, most likely Shin Bet, are also telephoning civilians to get out, when the F-16 is on finals.
I’m also told that even the UN is stating that of the 400 killed, 300 of them were the bad guys, with 100 (25%) being civvies/shields. Considering the theatre, that’s a good result.

Israel won’t move on Iran, she is waiting to be attacked. Then the ante will go up for a couple of days whilst another idiot is silenced. And if Iran makes one move towards her, I believe US will have no choice but to assist. Obama’s first job may have to be to EXPAND Guantanamo.

In middle eastern politics, that is a bad result. But what is Israel supposed to do? Sit and do nothing?. Shes danmed if she acts and danmed if she does not, which makes actions like these more likely.
