Thanks for heads up windhover. Bit pricey and I’d prefer to make it myself if I possibly can. ;O)
Just to let you see how we are getting on with fitting out our car-door Tiffie in deepest Gloucestershire. (The firewall is a dummy for our pet tin-basher to sort out the radii for the upper decking.)…

Looks great.
Blackdanter,
are these what your seeking?
Hi, I think I have enough information to fabricate those fittings now. Thanks. The next issue will be finding the anti vibration mounts.
Wow. Thanks Smirky. I’ve been looking for reference on those. Really appreciate that post. Have you got a clearer version for the larger top bracket?
My Lancaster panel has come a long way in the last few days. Still lots to do, bits to fabricate, fine tuning etc. The stumbling block at this moment is anti vibration mounts, rare as hens teeth these days. If anyone has any leads on those please message me. John.

Blackdanter,
Would suggest you contact the Fleet Air Arm museum as they may hold records/drawings on the Sea Fury, also the RN Historical flight which has 2 Sea Fury’s to my knowledge.
Regards
Jason
Thanks Jason. I will certainly make enquiries with both. John.
Early days on a Sea Fury panel project. I’ve gathered a few bits together and have a copy of the Pilot’s Notes for Mk 10 & 11. I’m struggling to find much info on stock panels (everything on the web seems to be for heavily modified birds). Does anyone have any access to factory panel/engineering drawings, parts reference numbers or any other useful info? Thanks. John.

Found this on a 202 Sqn Page under Malta & Med duties.

From Bruce Robinson’s ‘British Military Aircraft Serials 1912-1963’ (Ian Allan 1964) provides this:
S1373 is one of a batch of 39 Fairey IIIF, S1370-1408 ordered 1929. There are a number of batches of Fairey IIIFs before and after, some noted as all metal, which presumably means that this batch were not.
Was there ever an Air Britain Military S- Serials monograph, for a summary of her service and fate?
A quick ‘Google’ will bring up a great number of Fairey IIIF references, as a general introduction to a type the Wikipedia entry is a good start for general information.
That’s brilliant. Thanks very much viscount.
Yes I agree Fairey 111F
Thanks Sopwith.
I think it’s a Fairey III.F.
Rob
Thanks. You were fast! I’ll start looking into that. Not one I’ve ever heard of!
Thanks all. I will be following up on the pointers kindly given.
The Chipmunk Starter Carts were quite small – from memory they were approx shotgun cart sized (but please bear in mind I have not loaded a Chippie Breech since 1980)
rgds baz
Thanks Baz. These would be quite small. Probably around 20mm diameter.
Not an answer but some added info.
Never seen one so pristine in service life. There are many different Marks and Types that are configured for various engines.
I have mislaid my engine manuals but I seem to remember (30+ yrs ago) the Piston Provost (Leonides Mk 12601) Starter S7 Mk10; 37F/7267. Probably the same for single & twin Pioneer (127), Pembroke/Prince/President and Whirlwind helicopter. All 9 cylinder radials. Chipmunk was different (4 cyl Gypsy) S7 Mk2; 37F 4666994.
Hope it helps and not going to confuse.
Appreciate that. Very interesting that the ref number for the Chipmunk version is so close to the ref number on mine.
Do they differ according to engine? Do the ones fitted to piston engined whirlwind helicopters differ for instance?
I wouldn’t know. It needs someone who’s worked on these aircraft to answer that I guess. Hopefully someone with hands on experience will chip in.
