how long have you got for the answer
C-45 is the military designation when in US service – there were C-45A right through to C-45H
the Beech D18S is a model 18 variant D and S means it has P & W R-985 engines
the 18 in the picture is actually a US built variant for the Canadian air force a 3TM which is a navigational trainer. Currently owned by Tim Darrah.
the canadian registration was CF-QPD – built in 1954 construction number CA-164
it was operated as RCAF 5193 and 1564
one of 3 operated by Capital Air Surveys in the 80’s it came into Prestwick in 1981 with CF-DTN (now with us at Beech Restorations – search for us on here and you will find a load of pictures and video) the other one is now at Exeter with Skyblue Aviation (CF-SUQ.
i think the high cabin 18 is an 18H model but i would need to check

p.s – i used to own F-4 XV489 cockpit section
cool picture
very private those guys with that high cabin beech
here are lots of pics
i liked the smudge on the 1937 picture – “obviously a tailwheel sticking out of the coral” – talk about it often enough and it becomes true.
another inspired tag line
everyone post Beech 18 pics please
2 hours – i sat through 2 hours of it and guess what
crabs – all they found was chuffin crabs
waste of time and money imo
they are buried in China
18’s
Seems that there are quite a few Beech 18’s still flying these days. I’ve seen more than my fair share in a number of places it seems.
the more the better – super looking plane
keep the pics coming
I think the CAS ones are of the Duxford & Exeter 18’s – both of which are still flying
ours is the third of the trio
you really did confuse me you know
and yes a few more stud orders today –
are you still “maskers of the universe” ?
philip
very nice pictures
i am still confused by the odd messages tho
the capital air surveys aircraft above – do you have more details
what about the turrets on the AT-11 (Beech 18)
a number of those still exist and I know of one which is mint in the box (toy story 2)
even my beech 18 has a warning horn – pull back the throttles to idle without the undercart down and i certainly lets you know
i love the engine coffee table in the program
