Hangar Damage
Hi Guys
it is a real kick in the teeth, we have spent almost a year doing this. mainly a couple or 3 of us doing all the work.
not been able to work on the plane for all that time or the year before it after we were asked to come out of the main hangar 9less said about that bit the better)
The intention is to clad to the top on the rear section. A set of sliding doors will be manufactured and installed on the front and then clad from the top of the doors to the top of the hangar.
It would be so nice to button it all up of an evening and not have to worry but no such luck and look at the weather today, i don’t know if it gonna be there on saturday.
hangar damage
They think they will but they have another think coming and it is gonna cost them a lot of money soon
hangar damage
So that’s ten minutes on the job, fag break, read the paper, slope off for a pint, lunch, afternoon nap, fag break, tea break, go the loo to read the rest of the paper, knocking off time, off to the pub… :diablo:
some of the people we have in our “team” don’t even do the first ten mins, cus they never turn up and that is a really annoying, problem is they won’t see this so i am wasting my time again.
hangar damage
i think the forecast is for south westerly winds upto 70mph.
south westerly not too bad for us, rear left corner of the hangar which is more protected now.
not much we can do but hope

hangar damage
cheers guys, it is awful, so much hard work and gotta do it again.
At least the back held up ok
here are some pics
Here we see the damage to the front of the Beech Hangar
the damage fortunately is only limited to the first ten feet of the front canvas, no damage whatsoever to any of the aircraft.
This picture shows the undamaged rear aspect
thanks Andy, i think we will be ok but might give you guys a shout if we start to struggle, i mean struggle more than we already are struggling that is.

phantom windscreen
The F4 fleet certainly had a fair amount of life left in it. Not long before the fleet was drawn down, there were plans well in advance to equip the remaining aircraft with a one piece windscreen and various other upgrades to make the aircraft good for a further decade or so. But the ill-advised and short sighted “peace dividend” effect made it seem that the RAF could manage without.
I did have a picture of an FGR.2 modified with onepiece screen, not sure where that went to, might still have it somewhere.
shame there are none flying over here, thank goodness for the collings foundation huh.
only just seen this one
super flight in this on my birthday in 2005

mucky day, waited for cloud to clear a bit (1 1/2 hours maybe) Paddy offered me a go.
Sat chatting to him and i must say he is a very nice bloke.
eventful flight yes VERY, probably not the place to explain what happened.

not sure that a company that doesn’t invest and grow with the times should deserve to survive.
Airfix kits were always very poor and probably always will be until someone invests in new tooling and modern methods of manufacture, just like the japanese did.
pearl harbour didn’t work out so they flood the world with super kits and take over the world.

i know not very patriotic but so what.
