Hope the temperature difference between inside and outside the vulcan hanger doesn’t cause such an expansion or contraction in the airframe that it jumps off its jacks…….silly I KNOW but that is what their engineering director told me would happen if the doors were left open……..heaven forbid, all that money would be wasted then wouldn’t it.

If I really thought that by donating £500 the Vulcan would fly again I’d be quite prepared to raid my ‘rainy day’ fund.

    BUT

All I can forsee is sending off my pledge and eventually getting a jolly little note saying “Whoopee we’ve made it! Give us your £500” which I would duly mail off.

I’d then give it about three months until the next contact

“Unexpected costs blah blah commercial concern blah blah lots of interest blah blah sponsorship blah blah airshow oranisers wetting their knickers blah blah if we can just get over this last hurdle blah blah send more money blah blah we’ve had a good offer from the scrapman”

    Moggy

dead right……….it will be endless and worthless

    I dont Jibe, I Jitterbug.

Vulcan is too big to airlift out or road out. The only way she will leave brunters is in a series of skips or flying out.

The ‘hulk’ will be up for grabs if the company is wound up and will be put out to tender to help reduce debts to creditors.

    There she will sit.

For my money I imagine the canopy will be stuck back on and she’ll be wheeled out somewhere on the flightline and forgotten about, then in a few years time perhaps the original volunteers may start working on her again and may be able to get her taxiable…

I agree, you wont see the voc lot for dust, it will be left and become someone else’s problem

Won’t it be too wide to tow down the Mall?

not if it is a big parade of Skips, won’t need a wide movement order

“Are you really trying to compare your Beech to a Vulcan?” NO NO NO

You have quite clearly missed the point………… I am attempting to illustrate thought processes of potential investors/sponsors…………… can you not see that……..it is a Beech Vulcan analogy………….THINK ABOUT IT……………..

I bought an Historic aircraft, Beech 18……… I bought it for the americans ( i didn’t but can you see where this is going) AMERICA I BOUGHT IT FOR YOU, IT IS YOUR FAULT IF IT DOESN’T FLY, GIVE ME SHED LOADS OF CASH…………I HAVEN’T GOT ANY IDEA HOW MUCH OR WHEN.

IT IS THE MOST HISTORIC AIRCRAFT IN THE WORLD………IT IS MADE OF THE SOULS OF ALL THOSE YOUNG AVIATORS WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY.

WE NEED A SPONSOR……….IT AIN’T FLYING, WE DON’T KNOW WHEN IT WILL, WE DON’T KNOW HOW MUCH IT IS GOING TO COST……..BUT IF YOU DON’T GIVE US CASH NOW WE ARE GONNA PACK UP AND GO HOME AND IT WILL BE YOUR FAULT.

THANKS JOE PUBLIC FOR GIVING ME SOME MONEY BUT THAT HAS NOW ALL GONE.

now you lot………….Doesn’t that read daft………….well that is what VTTS/VOC have done…….WOULD YOU AS A POTENTIAL SPONSER AFTER READING THAT SUMMARY OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED GIVE YOUR SUPPORT…………….As a company director with responsibility for companies money, I would not sponser the Beech 18 on that summary alone. As an aircraft re-builder I can see both sides……….come on you lot, think about it don’t just use your hearts, use your heads….

Our Beech has cost thousands……….it will cost thousands more but one big difference, it is mine, it is not a race, we have not publicised stupid and un-realistic targets, we have asked and received some sponsorship but not much and we don’t/didn’t expect much, we were realistic………….We set ourselves realistic goals, I firmly believe they have not…………in every respect it was/is TOO BIG FOR THEM.

Don’t you guys realise why the RAF stopped using them. TOO EXPENSIVE, UNECONOMICAL…………….move on………………or if you guy want to send me some money for my Beech 18.

    sorrry for the rant
